Quite a dark and twisty thriller that kept my interest from start to finish. Well written with plenty of twists to keep me guessing

I don't know what the heck I read but wow! This is an edge of your seat type of read! Well written and will keep you trying to figure out the next step!

This story was an emotional roller coaster.
I enjoyed the story but felt it was a bit too much of Sid and Laurie’s on again off again relationship.
Throwing in the friends relationship was something I did not expect.
Kept my interest but wasn’t my favorite.

This was an alright read for me. I kept expecting more to happen though. This was a bit slow for me and the bavk and fourth I found confusing. Even though I was shocked at who did it the why was a bit underwhelming. Despite this I will try another from Claire.
Thanks goes to net galley and the publishers and author for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

WOW!
Pitched perfectly, I was surprised at how hard it was to put this book down!
Great characters, a fab storyline and an ending that left me satisfied!

This wasn't what I expected, but I'm not sure why. Perhaps the blurb? I enjoyed it though. It was fast and fun.

I would recommend this for anyone who likes psychological thrillers.
Oh my dayzzz I'm so far behind in my book reading and reviewing, I'm doing my best to correct it. And looking at books wondering what to read next I decided to just go for alphabetical on my kindle. It shows any books that have numbers in the title first, which is how I got to choosing this one.
This is a fast paced book, an enjoyable and interesting read. Keeps you wanting more. It's set as the title says over 24 hours.
Who is trying to kill Laurie? And why?
Over the course of 24 hours Laurie has to try and find her daughter before whoever is trying to killer realises she's still alive. Following a hotel fire that Laurie was caught up it, it seems everyone thinks she's dead. Only she isn't.
Interesting characters, a very well told story. This is the first book I've read by this author and it certainly looks like I've got plenty more to go at.

It took me a year to read half of the book and I didn't even finish it. It looked so promising, intriguing, and I think it was for around 50 pages. I wanted something "intense" as the title said, I wanted to read a thriller with more psychological topics but when I was reading this book I didn't feel anything like that. And I wasn't that bad. Actually, I liked the introduction of the book but it was tiring to read about a character trying to save her life and some flashbacks that were confusing. This "then" and "now" thing didn't work for me.
The subplots were weird, some things had no sense and there were characters that were forgettable. But, I liked that the story was told in first person, that made me feel some tension and fear for the person that was trying to find her.

I'd been reading a lot of romance and new adult books lately and felt like mixing it up a little, and I was in the mood for a good mystery novel. Going through my Kindle, I came across a 2015 release "24 Hours" by Claire Seeber. The book started out intense as Laurie, and her best friend Emily were out at a spa having a girl's weekend, and her mother has taken Laurie's daughter Polly away for the weekend. All is going well until fire strikes, and one thing leads to another and Laurie wakes up in the hospital. She is alive, but Emily is dead, the thing though is that somehow their identities have been accidentally swapped and the police think that Laurie was the one to cause the fire. Laurie now has 24 hours to find out who is trying to frame and kill her and to find her daughter Polly before it's too late. Laurie believes that it is her ex-husband Sid trying to kill her but what happens when during the 24 hours Laurie starts to think about all the people she knows and has to meet the past year and they all start looking more like suspects? We have Mal and Susie ( Leonard's separated parents), Sid and Jolie ( Sid's new girlfriend). I have to admit this book had a great lead-up but near the end when we discover what really happened that night out at the weekend spa , I was a tad disappointed at the twist as it felt like the twist had just appeared out of thin air as it had never been touched on or discussed anywhere else through the book unlike a few of the other angles it could have been. If you are wanting a quick-paced UK mystery thriller, then check out 24 Hours by Claire Seeber and discover that anything can happen in 24 hours and how easily life can change for you in the blink of a minute.

When I read Claire Seeber’s latest novel The Stepmother last year just before its release, I promised myself that I would read more from this author as I really enjoyed that novel and I knew I had some of her other offerings buried on my rather overloaded kindle. Well that time came when I decided to read 24 Hours.
It’s different to The Stepmother. I felt 24 Hours was at a faster pace to The Stepmother but then again, the clue is in the title; it can’t go slowly when the present is set in such a small timescale and boy does a lot happen in that 24 Hours!! But then again, there are also similarities. The time jumping happens in both. Its a clever way of giving the reader some of the back story without telling it all at once. You’re drip fed titbits to keep you guessing, which is always a good thing with this sort of thriller.
As I read, I found myself suspecting everyone and trusting no-one; all my suspects for the fire were totally unreliable, all with motive. Many questions popped in my head as the story developed. Why was Laurie desperate to get to her daughter Polly before her estranged husband Sid? Who would want to kill Laurie – she seemed the victim to me. “I should have kept running”
Sid was a very interesting character – he’s a very mixed up man, it was almost like he hadn’t accepted he was an adult and grown up. He was also like a drug for Laurie. She knew she needed to give him up but struggled to do so! “You can’t win against Sid”…
I will definitely be returning to Claire Seeber’s writing, based on 24 Hours and The Stepmother. These are both excellent thrillers that grab your attention throughout!
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for my e-copy of 24 Hours.
