Lucy has spent all her life on running away from the heartbreak. Maybe now it is the time to stick at the place and try to make things right?
When her beloved Nana Lily passes away, Lucy has to return to Luna Bay for the funeral. And then she discovers that Nana Lily has left her in her will the cottage and - a book club. Lucy has to preside the 'The Broken Hearts Book Club' for 3 months to be able to inherit.
Intrigued Lucy decides to stay. Helping the members of the book club, who are living with the weight of their grievings, is a tough job, but Lucy tries hard and with the open heart. And certain barman is a nice addition. But when things suddenly go wrong, will Lucy be able to stay and weather the storms?
OK. This book is silly and clichey. All the possible tropes from the modern British chick-lit are to be found here, and the the writing and plot set-up needs a quite ruthless editor.
But still - there is a certain warmheartedness and goodiness about this book! I would not recommend this as a serious read, no way. And I am going for 2 stars of five, so you have been warned. But if you are in a need of guilty pleasure just to drift you away without any heavy thinking, then you might consider this. And a bottle of wine and chocolate. And who cares about anything but the good feeling, right?
Thank you so much for being willing to grant me access to this book. Unfortunately, life obligations have prevented me from doing so. If my schedule clears, I plan on reviewing this in the future and will post the review on Amazon and Goodreads. Thank you.
