I love this authors books and this one was no exception. Charming and heartwarming. A delightful read.
"One hot summer" sounded like a very entertaining read and I expected lots of summer feeling.
I have to say that I had some trouble getting into the story and I had sone difficulties telling the characters apart. I also couldn't really connect with Alice and Robinson. They did had some chemistry though and the book was more sizzling than I expected.
The summer setting didn't come through that much and there were a lot more possibilities to create a summery atmosphere.
All in all it was an entertaining and light read but I expected a little bit more.
I really tried hard with this book. I picked it up and put it down again. I bought the audiobook and tried that but I just found it all a little cliche and just couldn't get to the end of it. I didn't really like the characters and I couldn't get over some of the language used so I didn't manage to get to the end of this one-sorry!
A lovely summer read with an interesting cast of characters! The heroine, Alice, is forced to rent out her country house after her cheating husband left her in the lurch. She moves out to a caravan on her land, and supported by her tenants in the nearby cottages, she vows to start a business so that she can keep the house. When her new tenant for the big house arrives, Alice is surprised to see that he's a tall, hunky American, and they begin to grow closer ... I enjoyed this, and it was nicely written without the (sadly too common) poor grammar and lack of editing which is so common these days. The other characters were a great bunch, and it was quite funny in places. I would definitely read more from this author.
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy.

I meant to have written this review up in the summer and just bypassed it by mistake.
I enjoyed the freshness of this genre as a change from my usual deep thrillers, but, the spark between the two main characters seemed to have got lost along the way.
Yet I fully get why it was slow with them connecting as they were both out of previous relationships and both still hankering after their ex. That didn’t help!
It made a nice change from my usual reads.
If you are looking for a lovely romance with a sexy cowboy this summer, look no further than One Hot Summer. This is a sweet but steamy story of Alice and Robinson, with a fantastic cast of characters.
Due to family commitments, I have been unable to read this book. I thank you for the provision of it, and if I get to it in the future, I will make sure to leave public reviews on Goodreads and my personal blog. Again, apologies and thanks.
I am not going to be reviewing this book, but thank you for the approval.
a really happy and enjoyable read for the summer. i really enjoyed the lightheartedness and couldnt put it down.
This is the first book that I have read by Kat French and I must say that I really enjoyed it! Thank you to NetGalley for a ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
One Hot Summer was a quirky fun romantic read that follows the story of Alice who kicks her Actor Husband after finding out he has cheated on her by seeing pictures in the newspapers. Unable to keep her mortgage repayments she takes in Robinson a cowboy who needs a break from his life and well then you can say the rest is pretty much history.
An enjoyable quirky, fun read. I look forward to reading Kat French's next book.
