The story behind the woman who expired the sculptor of the Statue of Liberty. I expected to love this, but in the end it was just OK. The story seemed very disjointed and I found myself not caring about many of the characters.
The story of the woman who inspired the Statue of Liberty and the sculptor who created it.
Unfortunately I had to give up with this one. It’s an interesting premise, and well-executed from an historical point of view, with attention being paid to all the necessary historical detail, but overall I found it just too romantic, with all the tropes, clichés and stereotypes of romantic fiction. Little development of character, and too many stock situations, made it a tedious read for me. Not a bad book, just not very good.
