The List is the story of 8 girls, each either labelled the prettiest or the ugliest in their grade and the impact of this on themselves and how people treat them.

I liked the concept of the story and although there is 8 different characters/perspectives in the story which can be overwhelming at times, I did like the characters and their stories. The story is fast paced and a quick read, I liked the writing style and how each character was unique and written in a way which made them stand out and so it was easier to distinguish the characters and their stories.

However, the book was disappointing because it feels unresolved. There was so many things that were pointed out and never addressed enough mainly because the book takes place over the course of a week. I would have liked to see the outcome/the characters over the course of the year and I did find that the ‘reveal’ in the book was disappointing. There were parts in the book which I felt were unneeded and just put in for the sake of having chapters for each of the characters and so the book at times was boring however because it is fast paced it did not drag on.

Was kind of disappointed in the book. Yes I agree YA seems kind of immature for me now but still the title and the cover tempted me.

This is the first time I have read anything my Siobhan Vivien, so I didn’t quite no what to expect. This is told by multiple characters attending high school. Every year a list is created naming the ugliest and prettiest girls – no-one know who creates this list but it can be brutal and we see the impact that it has on our characters and how they deal with bullying. I didn’t really like this story there were too many perspectives and I felt that nothing really felt resolved at the end. What I did like was that it allowed us to see how it affects people and how they are treated when something so superficial is posted around high school – the characters are at an impressionable age and something like this can scar you for life.

I rated 2 out of 5 stars
