It's a real feel good read- it draws you in and leaves you in the magical wintery world with a gorgeous ski resort and a lovely sounding hotel. I do love T A Williams style of writing and his books are always a delight to read.

In What Happens in the Alps... we meet Annie Brewer. She has moved to the little Italian village of Santoroso for a new start after the death of her husband. Annie is opening an English language school in the village, the first step in moving forwards with her life.

Annie is a very likeable and real character. She is kind, resilient and very determined.  For someone not looking for love, there certainly seems to be a glut of eligible men in the village. First we have Matt Brown, the best friend of Annie's deceased husband. Matt is an adventurer and a ladies man, yet he obviously cares deeply about Annie. There is also the charming, wealthy Italian, Alex Lago.  Is Annie ready to open her heart once more and, if so, which man has truly captured her heart?

The story is well-written and flows along at a good pace. The plot is interesting and the characters are all endearing in their own individual way. There is plenty of humour and laughs throughout the book, which stops the story from becoming too sickly-sweet.

I must of course mention Leo the dog - in T.A. Williams books there is always a four-legged friend (a black Labrador) who steals the show!

The settling is absolutely glorious and perfect for this sweet romantic novel - a little snow-covered village in the Italian Alps. I could imagine the crisp, fresh air and the glorious scenery surrounding the village. By the end of the book, I was certainly thinking about dusting off my skis and getting a winter holiday booked.

I do love a romance novel and this one does not disappoint. The book is light-hearted, funny and very enjoyable.
