There was much to enjoy here, but I found I couldn't connect with it. I'd read more from this author in the future though.

The Somnambulist And The Psychic Thief by Lisa Tuttle is a mystery and thriller and sci-fi and fantasy read.
The year is 1893.
Miss Lane a friend of Gabrielle Fox who follows the reports published by the society for psychical research as miss x. She finds out she may not be truthful so she runs out. She goes back to London and to work for Mr Jesperson a private detective who lives with his mother. Nearly out of money he goes to see his landlord to see if he has a mystery to solve in exchange for the rent they owe.
This was an absolutely fantastic read with brilliant characters. I really liked miss Lane and Mr Jesperson. I had wondered about what he could do. I had no idea who it was. Full of twists. Highly recommended. 5*. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from netgalley.
