Makenna and Ryan
Another one of my lost & found NetGalley ARC which means I started the series at book 5 instead of book 1. It was easy to jump in and enjoy the story! I didn't feel lost in the slightest.
I enjoyed this book! Makenna and Ryan were a well-matched couple. I loved how she was easily able to interpret his grunts. I loved how he tried to be as patient as possible and see things from her perspective.
I'm intrigued by the side characters (for this book at least) and will likely be reading the rest of the series.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley. At some point I also purchased a copy. 🤷♀️
I ADORE silent and broody heroes, and Ryan was paranormal PERFECTION! Makenna with her superstitious quirkiness was the perfect contrabalance to Ryan’s grunting type. The pack, the friendship, the love and the action, always present in Suzanne Wright’s brilliant story telling, was once again spot on, and just urged me to crave more and more of these shifters!
Another great book by Suzanne Wright! This one had a couple who were good together. I like Wright's stuff because you can always feel the sparks between the characters, which isn't guaranteed in some other books in this genre.
The Phoenix and Mercury Packs are so open and liberal, this book made it interesting that they had a prejudice against lone shifters. Always thinking that lone shifter have been kicked out for a negative reason, they come to realized through Makenna and Ryan's nephew, that this is not always the case.
Ryan has always been so stoic in most of the other books, its good to get his story and see him with more feelings than in the past.
I'm a fan of this series, but the story of Makenna and Ryan felt a little flat to me.
I was more invested in the storyline behind the secondary characters, and didn't feel like those stories were fleshed out enough.
I'm still curious if the "bad guy" was really abusing children or not, as that storyline felt like it was handled in a "we say he did, that's all that matters" kind of way.
ARC received for review from Netgalley.

Good addition to the series. I look forward to the next one
I really enjoyed this one. Loved McKenna a lot. Such a great heroine. The author once again gives us a bit of intrigue along with a huge helping of sexual chemistry, and a big sprinkle of humor. I love the Phoenix Pack! every wolf in it is just perfect. It was great to catch up with everyone again. They are family and I love how open they are to including more in their group because it's the right thing to do. Big hugs for all the pups!!
Still a few more to fall in the pack. Can't wait to read more HEA!
I'm not one of those people who are sticklers for reading books in order. Sure, I'll try to do it, but it's just not necessary for me. I'm bringing it up because I have not been reading the Phoenix Pack series in order. I read Dark Instincts first and while I fell in love with it and bought the other books in the series, I read Fierce Obsessions next. I loved seeing what Ryan and Mckenna's relationship was like and I was so excited to read their story that I just decided to do it now. I'm glad I did because I absolutely loved Savage Urges - it was amazing!
There wasn't much that I didn't love about Mckenna. I think the only thing was her stubbornness in not believing in the bond she and Ryan share, but even when she had her doubts she couldn't resist being with him and she didn't drive me crazy or annoy me. And everything else, I did love about her. She's quirky and random, fun, a little insane, but all-around, a good person. Kenna is protective and giving and she would do anything for someone she cares about. Kenna is just wonderful and I know you'll love her just as much as I do!
Ryan is definitely your dark, deadly, silent, brooding guy. He's very serious and protective, rational and not highly emotional, but that's just what makes him him and I wouldn't have him any other way. Ryan knows that Kenna is without a doubt his mate and he never falters or gives up on her. He's determined and dominant and possessive and while he might not be the Alpha of the pack, he's definitely an alpha. Even though he doesn't try to, Ryan does have his sweet moments and it's not hard at all to see the way he feels about Kenna. Ryan is so great - I totally fell for him!
Savage Urges was sexy and hot and full of action, entertainment, and heart. It got my blood boiling and my heart aching and it amused me and made me laugh and smile a lot. There was never a dull moment or a time when I wanted to stop reading. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I had such a good time reading it. I was so looking forward to reading about Ryan and Mckenna and Savage Urges completely surpassed all my expectations - it was just that excellent!
Savage Urges can be read as a standalone, it's told from Ryan and Kenna's POV, and their happy ending left me with a smile on my face!
Without exaggeration, one of the best paranormal romance series! :)
Savage Urges is another fantastic addition to the Phoenix Pack series. The banter and the foreplay of anticipation is something to experience. Makenna is feisty and fiery, who has no fear when it comes to being who she is. Ryan respects her as a woman but also sees past her jabs at the woman who needs a man to love her. Ryan is a man who is protects what's his no matter that cost and has the whole sexy primal man going for him. Fast paced, action packed (in and out of the sheets), their story will make you laugh and love! Recommended to my wolf-loving friends.

I loved this book Suzanne Wright sure knows how to write a paranormal story. It was amazing from start to finish, I found that I just couldn't put it down, here's to the next book.
Oh, I ADORED this book. I have been intrigued by Ryan since book 1, and I couldn't have asked for better match for him than Makenna. Great addition to the series. Really, this is the best shifter series out there in my opinion, and Suzanne Wright has quickly become an auto-buy for me. These should be read in order, but do yourself a favor and pick them up if you like romance/PNR. You won't be disappointed.
