Jay Posey does a bit of juggling with viewpoint characters, but in the end the story jells nicely. He tells a story of intrigue against a backdrop of a cold war existing between a semi-united Earth and a Martian Federation. The fun part is the Outriders with their equipment having to untangle the noted narrative to head off a possible war. It will be interesting to see how the characters will change and mature as the series continues.
