Trying to clear some of my Netgalley back log (sorry!) and picked this one up. This was a DNF for me, I think I would have enjoyed this a few years ago when it was released. More a reflection on me than the book, I think.
I honestly loved Alyson Noël’s Evermore series way back but this one was like a gossip girl like novel with a twist. Too much backstabbing and arrogant and rich and spoiled characters.
Alyson Noel herself has made a name in the industry and much cannot be mentioned in a negative form of her work. As a general fan of her work I am bit biased towards her work itself.
This book just wasn't for me. For the most part, there wasn't really anything "wrong" with it but it just wasn't that great. The concept was cool but I felt like the writing style was lacking something.
The overall story of this book was highly enjoyable, although slow in the beginning, I found myself wanting to read more and follow along with these characters. I was kind of put off by the fact it was set in Hollywood as it immediately made me think it was going to be a cliche but it definitely wasn't. My favourite character was definitely Layla.
Will no longer be reading or reviewing this book due to lack of interest in the title, and the fact that the title has been archived.
Good book but strange storyline and very weird way that the book ended
I used to love Noel's books years and years ago so I was excited to see what she was writing about now. The synopsis of this book really intrigued me and I immediately got sucked in to the world of LA nightclubs. However, I did have my issues with this book too. With books that have multiple main characters and multiple POVs, I tend to find that I either love some and hate some, or just don't become connected to any of the characters, and sadly I found the latter to be true in this case.
