This book is a real tear jerker and a rollercoaster of emotions and had me in tears quite a few times. Will their love for each other survive the battles they are both faced with and is it worth fighting for?
Am absolutely brilliant read that I didn’t want to put down. It was a very intense read and told in a rather different way but I loved it.
This is a good contemporary romance novel, but I never really warmed to Leo as a character. I didn't quite buy his connection to Molly other than their shared grief, which isn't the best basis for a relationship. Overall it is well written but just ok.
I am sorry for not reviewing fully but I don’t have the time to read this anymore. I believe that it wouldn't benefit you as a publisher or your book if I only skimmed it and wrote a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for not fully reviewing!
Leo and Molly are together against all odds. He is a war correspondent. Prior to a devastating injury, he and Molly had split up. When he wakes up, he thinks they are still together. Molly has to work through things with Leo as he slowly recovers and they decide whether they can move forward with their relationship.
The book goes between two times periods - the past and the present. As Leo slowly begins to regain his memory he recalls how they met and got together. Molly tells us about their relationship and how they have been pulling apart.
In many ways, it's the story of many relationships - all love and romance at the start -where they are willing to put aside the fact that they come from very different backgrounds. Then comes the slow falling apart as the couple starts to take each other for granted and their differences start to create a rift.
Two flawed characters, who once were in love with each other, and now with Leo forgetting their falling apart and Molly hiding her secret you wonder what will happen. As a reader you want them to get back together.
Despite the simplicity of the story telling, I was very moved by this book.
Kelly Rimmer has written a very honest and relatable novel, with scenes that could happen in anyone's life. She has written flawed, loving, and interesting characters that one could meet at any point in their lives.
At times the storyline was a little slow, but it didn't take away from the power and impact of the novel.
Deeply moving, this gripping tale of love lost once and potentially on the way to be lost a second time is the kind of heart-wrenching read that will stay with readers for a long time to come.
I love this authors books. In this book we met Susan Webster she has been discharged from a psychiatric unit after murdering her 3 month old son. She is now known as Emma Cartwright. Reinventing herself and starting a new life.
She doesn't recollect what happened. Then in her new home and new surrounding and with a new name an envelope addressed to her with her previous name on it arrives. It refers to a photo of Dylan her son.
Who knows where she is now living, who knows her, whose following her?
She needs to find out what really happened that day.
The storyline was superb.
The ending let it down for me though taking it down to a 4 star.
My thanks to Bookouture via Net Galley for my copy
Trying to clear my shelfs, sorry that I haven't read and reviewed this one yet but my reading habits have changed. Although I may review at a later date when I'm looking for a different read
#uglycry get prepared to cry like a baby. This story is such a beautiful and heartfelt story.
Beautifully written and an emotional rollercoaster! Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to friends who also enjoy this genre of book!
I have bought this book in ibooks and will read and review it soon as I am a fan of the author.
Thank you so much for being willing to grant me access to this book. Unfortunately, life obligations have prevented me from doing so. If my schedule clears, I plan on reviewing this in the future and will post the review on Amazon and Goodreads. Thank you.
When I Lost You grabs a hold & takes the reader on a ride from pretty much the first page. This is the first book I've read by Kelly Rimmer but I will be looking for more. Her characters are so real, so flawed, so vulnerable. And the story is just plain interesting.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
