Well written novel about the love of a mother for her child, of loss. The story centres around two mothers who love their child very much. Ella is taken from the park and the tale is told from the point of view of her mother and her abductor. There is a third narrative cleverly interwoven - that of the Abductors son, and it soon becomes apparent that a tragedy has taken place recently. I found myself sympathetic to both characters and the ending of the book helped this.

This was a fast read. While My Eyes Were Closed is an interesting and slightly different take on the plethora of missing child books.

What a nail biting read this turned out to be.
It's one of those books I've been meaning to read for a long time.
I finally got around to reading it and then was annoyed that i'd not done so earlier.
Every parents worse nightmare in this book, but it was put together well and easy to read and follow.

Even people who have never had children feel free to judge those who have. And those of us who are mothers know we’ve done something, at some point, that has others judging us.
But hopefully they aren’t lurking in the woods, waiting to take our child away when we’re not looking.
