Having had this for what seemed like a lifetime on my kindle, I thought it was time i finally read it. I've been playing catch up with my reading and reviewing and have really got lost in some great books. With real life taking a nose dive i love getting lost in a fictional story.
Mark Hardie gives us a gritty read, a police procedural that started off great, It didn't take me long to read this book and i did enjoy it.

Burned and Broken is a gritty read from first time author Mark Hardie. It deals with gangs, police corruption, drugs and the rest. The main characters are well cnstructed.

A fantastic debut, with well-drawn characters - I look forward to getting to know the police officers better - which promises great things in the books to come in this series. The issues visited in this book are pertinent, chilling, and, most importantly, highly plausible. An auspicious start to what will hopefully be a great career.
