Martina loses her father to a tragic car accident. Having difficulty dealing with her grief she goes to stay the summer with her grandfather. She meets many interesting people but none as interesting as the wealthy Cecelia and her younger "friend" Luca. Cecelia and Martina have a bond and share many things together. The book had a nice storyline but I was not a fan of how it ended or the fact that no one seemed very concerned about where or what teenage Marti was doing.
