Tildy has a tough life in Bromsgrove, amongst a needle making community. Things take a tougher turn when she has to do backbreaking outdoor work to support herself, in field gangs. When she is taken away she wonders whether it is going to turn out to be a even more sinister turn in her life. A good read.
