As Black as Ebony was a very quick read; I finished it in one day. While Lumikki remained the same enigmatic character, troubled, pulled between dark and light, I didn't like this one as much as the other two books. Probably because it was more about her and less about her helping others. And eventually I can't help but wonder how so many unrelated problems can converge on an eighteen year old girl. But it was still a good read and so beautifully written.
