I enjoyed this redemption style story. A small town romance that wa a sweet, sexy, feel good romance that contains both the unrequited love and enemies to lovers tropes. I quite enjoyed it and I'm eager to read more in the series.
**My thanks to Netgalley and Montlake Romance for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
It has taken me a disgusting amount of time to read this book from picking it up and eventually finishing the book itself. I'm embarrassed as this is actually a really good book.
Delaney is a very strong character. A lot has happened to her and she still has a wonderful heart the the want to look after those that are close to her, and even then she tries to do right by other people.
Ethan has had a thing for Delany for years, however when she comes back to Wildwood as the planning department has forced her hand in regards to a property that she co owns with her sisters thanks to her late father, things take a turn that neither of them see coming.
The spice level between the pair is off the charts and they have a wonderful chemistry. I love how Ethan immediately defends Delaney to her family and still has a wonderful heart despite what his family have done to him.
I look forward to reading the rest of the books by this author that I have on my kindle.
LOved this Skye Jordan book, Forbidden Fling was a joy to read, I highly recommend it! I cannot wait for the next Skye JOrdan book to be released, Skye is an auto purchase for me
Skye Jordan is a master at weaving stories that give you the perfect amount of everything you look for in a good romance novel. Forbidden Fling did not disappoint! Back story mystery, blazing hot chemistry, family drama, guilt, fear, intelligent banter, etc... What more could you ask for? These characters and beautiful little town were brought to life with her exceptionally written words. And as a Bay Area native and a hopeless romantic with a sorted past, I could clearly envision it all perfectly! I am seriously looking forward to more books from this series.
Good story fast paced and easy to follow.
Interesting characters and story line.
Great romance.
Ethan and Delaney are great together. At least they can be, if memories didn't stand in the way. The long memories of the townsfolk and the bad memories that Delaney harbors. Sweet and tough, she is just trying to get her family business back on track and Ethan wants to help her, but, should he, he has plans too. Very sexy and a great start to a new series.
I enjoyed this romance between Delaney and Ethan and thought this book was a good start to a new series. Both of the main characters are carrying plenty of baggage, and I enjoyed seeing them finally get through it and develop a relationship. I liked their romance, and the storyline was an interesting one.
This was the book I could not put down.
Delaney is the comeback girl who straightened her act out and had her life together. She is faced to coming back to the town where she was hated to deal with her future.
Ethan is the building inspector whose father hates Delaney and wants her ran out of town, on top of that he wants her liquor license bad. He also wants her
Can they overlook the past to create a future or are they going to stay at a stalemate.
This was a great book and I am looking forward to the next one in the series.

I enjoyed this story by Skye Jordan. It was, in a way, a sweet story with a hard fought for HEA. Delaney comes back to town to figure out what to do about the bar that was her father's. It is run down and an eye sore for the town. Years ago she was forced out of town, so all she wants to do is take care of business and leave again. Ethan has always had a crush on Delaney. Her coming back to town had caused an uproar in his family. Together they are explosive, apart they are miserable.
I loved the interactions between the characters. This book did start off slow and took awhile to get into it, but it is worth sticking with it.
Warring families. A tragic accident. A love affair that would destroy everyone involved if the affair is discovered. Instead of the Montagues and the Capulets, the family feud is on a smaller scale – the Harts vs the Hayes. But just like Romeo and Juliet, two people find love where they certainly shouldn’t and secrets can destroy.
The Hayes have always blamed Delaney Hart for the loss of family member, Ian. It’s because of her, her alcoholic father and their bar – The Bad Seed – that Ian was killed. But they’ve also blamed their own son, Ethan. He should never have let Ian drink too much and get into any fights. The Hayes managed to squeeze Delaney and make things so difficult for her that at 18 years old she leaves Wildwood, her two young sisters and aunt. Ethan fairs no better, leaving his own dreams behind when the guilt of Ian’s death is used to his bitter father’s advantage.
Ten years have passed and The Bad Seed brings Delaney back to the one place she never wanted to see again. The bar her father has left to her and her two sisters has been designated a visual nuisance. It is up to Delaney to make a decision on the bar – demolish the place of her nightmares or renovate. Ethan has his own dreams for The Bad Seed’s liquor license – he wants to open his own brew pub for his homemade beer. The plot thickens even more – he is the city planner and chief inspector.
Ethan has always wanted Delaney but knows she’s out of his league. Delaney has struggled the last ten years and has kept men at arm’s length. What’s supposed to be one night together changes everything. Delaney knows the feud will escalate if they are discovered. Even if she and Ethan are electric together, her plans for the bar will damage the fragile bond between them. Ethan realizes that with her he can finally be everything he wants to be – have everything he ever wanted. Still so much stands in the way – his warped family, his obligations and his guilt.
Oh, the steam and instant chemistry between these two! Scorching hot encounters that neither one could forget. Neither could this reader! Delaney and Ethan burn, burn, burn! The family feud left me speechless and angry. How can family be this cruel? The story is wonderfully full of angst, heartbreak, misunderstandings and want for something that should never be. Twist and turns kept me turning the pages. I fell just as hard for the secondary characters – Pops and Phoebe – as I did for Ethan and Delaney. Especially for Pops.
Forbidden Fling is a fantastic look into Wildwood! The Hart sisters, Avery and Chloe, are set to come home soon, and I very excited to see what happens next in this series! This was a fun and fabulous read. Great job, Skye!
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Delaney Hart is back home, but not willingly. She left this small town years ago, never thinking she would have to come back and face the Hayes family and their vindictive ways. The Bad Seed, a bar her father ran and the place of her childhood nightmares is tagged as an eyesore by the city. Her choices are to have it demolished or rebuild it. The wrong choice might cost Delaney everything. Ethan is a Hayes, and the towns only Chief planner and building inspector. Ethan has a dream to make sure Pops can retire in comfort. He has waited years for the Bad Seed bar to be torn down so he can buy their liquor license. The bar where Ian lost his life and Ethan's was changed forever. Both Ethan and Delaney are trying to care for the ones they love by ensuring their futures. But what happens when only one of them can have their dream? A delightful small town romance. Two warring families. Two star-crossed lovers.
