The One That Got Away
Perfect for reading at the poolside!!
I loved the synopsis for The One That Got Away and the book was fab, it definitely lived up to the hype!
A modern day version of Jane Austen's Persuasion, this book has a great storyline, believable characters and just gives you a lovely warm and fuzzy feeling. Lots of fun, loved it!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book, with thanks to Netgalley and the publisher. 4*

A simple read where the ending can be easily predicted.
Ruby & Ethan are perfect for each other an in love but Ruby's new job in New York finds them seperated. Ruby finds that life in New York doesn't really suit her and she struggles to fit in.
Ethan decides to take the talents he has and make something of himself - he becomes a much sought after bachelor.
They are thrown together 10 years later at Ruby's sisters wedding where Ruby is a bridesmaid.
Ruby finds herself still in love with Ethan, she tries to find time to talk to him and explain what happened in the past but he is constantly surrounded by the other younger bridesmaids where a lot of flirting takes place.
Neither of them seem happy with the lives they have made for themselves.
Ruby' s dad has a heart attack the night before the wedding and this seems to highlight to both Ruby and Ethan that life is short and needs to be lived. Can they sort the past out and move forward?
