An enjoyable read set in two different times sweet romantic and full of heartfelt moments
Thank you Netgalley for a copy for an honest review
I've read Kate Forster before and enjoyed her writing so I thought I'd give this book a go. I really enjoyed it and the last quarter I couldn't put down, but I'm afraid I have a few criticisms to make. There were too many people in the book, I realise why each character was in it but it got really confusing who was who and who was related to who I had to write all the characters down and who they were!! maybe a mini family tree at the beginning of the book (without giving away the family secrets) might have helped. There was a lot of death to read about at the beginning of the book it nearly put me off reading it! I get the part about Daphne but learning so early on her Son and one of her granddaughters had died and also her death was a bit much but I'm glad I persisted. I loved the twists and turns and didn't see the big secret coming! I'm glad the granddaughters carried on the business and I loved reading Daphne's part of the book to learn more about her and her life as a younger lady. I'm glad everyone was happy in the end and it seems the Le Marche family's 'curse' had been lifted. I would recommend this book to others and I will look out for Kate Forster's next book. Thank you for letting me read and review this book, it was a good and enjoyable read.
