This was the final book in the It Had To Be series and the one I least liked. The first 2 were 3.5 stars and the 3rd book was a 5 star, which really surprised me, as I was thinking it would be least liked book, since I'm usually not a big fan of rock star romances. I am rating It Had To Be Them 2.5 stars and raising it to 3 stars for Goodreads. I was not crazy about the 2 main characters, Ben and Kline. I had actually been looking forward to Ben's story. Throughout the series, I disliked the father, who is the mayor of Anderson Butte (which I think we were suppose to), but I really disliked/hated him in this one. The best character though has to be the grandmother. I ended up being disappointed in this series.
I really enjoyed the book, it has everything I love in a novel from start to finish. I can’t wait to read what the author has planned next!
this was one of those stories, where everyone seemed to be meddling in the lives of other people - even if it was at least for Kline Grant - the main character - meant in a positive light, but that usually leaves a bad taste for me. I don't like meddling stories, but this one was an exception because they characters truly showed that they had the best intentions, and the Author did not make them seem too cliche. Overall a good book, and interesting enough to make me want to read another installment in the series.
It had to be them. Is a second chance romance. This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. Kline hasn't been back to Anderson Butte for years, forced back because her mother is unwell. Kline will have to deal with her past, instead of runaway. Ben is pleased to see Kline finally back, he still has feelings for her. With the help of the town he hopes to win her back. The path to true love is never smooth, and between the vindictive mayor and some misunderstandings. You are left hoping they can work it out. Loved the cast of characters they made the small town seem a lovely place to stay. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Arc received from net galley in exchange for a honest review.
