I knew as I was part way through this book that I had read it previously.
Currently trying to reduce my reading pile backlog and seem to be finding books I know I've read, but for whatever reason at the time hadn't made a note of it. I suppose when we read so many books i'ts difficult to remember every one.
As I say as soon as i started this I knew i'd read it, but as some parts didn't feel familiar I continued to read it, So for this re-read, this was an enjoyable book.
Not quite sure what I'd have done in this situation. Imagine having a nice family day in your garden when someone injured turns up. I don't mean a cut finger injured, I mean at deaths door injured. This family will regret opening their gate and helping this stranger.
It may not be a coincidence that he turned up at their home.
A riverting read.

Rob & Wendy are enjoying a quiet Sunday with their children, when suddenly a completely hurt bleeding person shows up out of nowhere – and soon everything changes for them.
While this book was intriguing, it was a bit lengthy, a bit confusing to understand which character was which and how were they related to Rob & Wendy.

Tom Bale is an author that I found on NetGalley. There is a twist in every novel and it's always shocking. I can't wait to read every single one of his books.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book, it was my first by Tom Bale. This book has no shortage of action and thrills. It starts out with a bang and just doesn't stop from there.

I'm putting other Bale novels on my TBR shelf for sure.

All Fall Down was published by Bookouture in September 2016 and is available in paperback, ebook and audio formats.  I received a free eARC of this book via NetGalley but that has in no way influenced my review.

I read and reviewed Tom Bale's See How They Run shortly after starting my blog over three years ago and rather enjoyed it.  All Fall Down had a lot to live up to and I am delighted to confirm that it didn't disappoint at all.  In fact, it surpassed my expectations with jaw-dropping scene after jaw-dropping scene as the story reached its climax.  I love Bale's books in that respect.  His characters are so beautifully, brilliantly normal but they somehow end up in the most terrifying, heart-stopping scenarios.

Rob and Wendy Turner and two of their three teenage children are spending a sunny Summer afternoon in the garden enjoying a Barbecue.  Pretty normal, right? Until someone starts banging on their fence, pleading to be let in.  Their gut reaction is to help so they fling the gate open only for a badly beaten man to stagger into their garden.  They try their best to save him with their basic first aid skills but he dies.  What they believe was a chance encounter turns out to be anything but.  What secrets are the family hiding?  And could they be deadly...?

I thoroughly enjoyed All Fall Down.  The plot is gripping and moves at a good pace to keep the reader turning the pages.  The characters are superb and you feel as though you're living the nightmare with the Turner family.  The story took off in directions I never expected and for that, I loved this book.  There were so many highlights.  There were also a number of uncomfortable moments which made my skin crawl, all brilliantly written.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, I would.  If you like to read about extraordinary things happening to normal people then you will love All Fall Down.  The only quibble I had was that the end felt a little drawn out.  I would have liked everything tied up a little quicker but that's just me.  All in all, a compelling page-turner of a family thriller which kept me spellbound from start to finish.

I chose to read and review an eARC of All Fall Down.  The above review is my own unbiased opinion.

Tom Bale certainly writes gripping and thrilling books and All Fall Down is no exception. This standalone crime thirller will definitely NOT disappoint.

Bookouture and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of All Fall Down. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.

When an uninvited guest comes to Rob and Wendy's barbecue, little did they know that one small act of kindness would have the potential to ruin their lives. As their whole family becomes embroiled in a life and death situation, will Rob be able to protect his three children and his wife?

All Fall Down is the kind of suspense thriller that reminds me of the phrase "everything but the kitchen sink". The book suffered from too many plot lines that pulled the focus away from the central story. With a spider web of individual plots all converging into a conclusion that really felt out of left field, All Fall Down lacked the cohesion and spine tingling thrilling moments that would have made this book good. It was hard to find a connection with characters that all have secrets to hide and questionable moral qualities. For these reasons, I would be hesitant to recommend All Fall Down to other readers.

(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)

It should have been an idyllic day for the Turner family – until a dying man, beaten beyond all recognition, arrives at their home, uttering the words, HELP ME.
Rob and Wendy Turner and their children try to explain away the horrific scene as being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but in the days that follow their lives are threatened in ways they could never imagine.
The family is unaware that they are being watched by someone with their own terrifying agenda, who will stop at nothing to fulfil their own twisted desires.
But when hidden secrets come rushing to the surface, it’s clear not everything is as it seems in this happy family. Are the Turners a victim of circumstance – or does the key to their fate lie closer to home?
Forced to fight for everything they hold dear, can they save themselves before time runs out – or will their act of compassion see them paying the ultimate price…?

A great thriller from a guy who is fast becoming a must read writer!

This book starts out with a bang - and quite the bang it is too - and then settles in for a good piece of story-telling. The tension builds in this story - not exactly slowly, but enough to keep you turning the pages and considering what is coming next.

Also, the characters in this novel were well-drawn and instantly identifiable for me. There have been too many books lately where I find it near impossible to connect with characters as they are far above my pay-grade...but here, Rob & Wendy are just about the perfect couple for this story.

Aside from those two things - everything else was really good. This is far and away more than just your average crime novel. This is a must-read!

ALL FALL DOWN by British author Tom Bale is a standalone crime, psychological thriller that is sure to please. This is the second book that I have read by this author, having loved “See How They Run”, a fast-paced thriller with non-stop action right out of the gate. But in All Fall Down, the book has a different format, the pacing is slower in the first half of the book, allowing for more in-depth character growth and building tension. And it works well! This displays the versatility of this authors’ writing skills.

“It should have been an idyllic day for the Turner family – until a dying man, beaten beyond all recognition, arrives at their home, uttering the words, HELP ME. “

But why did the dying man choose the Turner family to seek assistance? The Turner family doesn’t know this man. It soon becomes apparent that someone in the family has a secret which may be the reason the man was found at their door.

The Turner family take a holiday in Norfolk and life drastically changes.

Rob and Wendy Turner and their children lives will never be the same!

The family is unaware that they are being watched by someone Evil.

“But when hidden secrets come rushing to the surface, it’s clear not everything is as it seems in this happy family. Are the Turners a victim of circumstance – or does the key to their fate lie closer to home?”

Will they be able to save themselves…before time runs out?

I highly recommend this book to all readers of crime fiction, thrillers, and psychological thrillers.

Many thanks to Tom Bale, Bookouture (my favourite publisher) and Net Galley for the ARC.

I was so excited to read this book and was not disappointed. I read it in just over a day, getting frustrated when I had to put it down and get back to real life!, and was gripped from the first page. I can't go into too much detail without giving spoilers but I will and have been recommending this book to everyone I know.

I am very sorry, but I didn't finish this book as it didn't hold my interest at all. I have read Tom Bale's last book and found that thrilling.

I really enoted the twists and turns in this book. What got me interested in this book was the unique opening. .the man who shows up half dead at the families' bbq. This book keeps the reader interested. Once you think you have figured out the ending, something else happens. I could have done without the few chapters devoted to the torture of one of the characters. Other than those few chapters, this was a great book!

This was a gripping suspense/thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat! The characters were fleshed out well, and I became invested in seeing how the story played out, turning pages quickly. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery and suspense and well drawn out characters. I will be looking out for Mr. Bales' next book!

On a lovely summers day a family BBQ is interrupted as a dying man stumbles to the gate pleading for help.
Rob and Wendy Turners lives from this point will never be the same again.
Suddenly they fear they are been watched and then they are threatened by the very people who targeted the dying man but why?.
Tom Bale has a writing style that immerses you in the story so you could imagine been there.
He builds suspense, fear and tension and sets the scene well with good characterisation.
This book kept me gripped all the way through and I'm looking forward to more by this author.
My thanks go to the publisher, author and Netgalley in providing me with a copy of this book in return for an honest review

Thanks to netgalley for the opportunity to have read this great novel. First book by Mr Bale I've read and I can't wait to read more.
The book starts off quietly - with a dying man on the property of Rob and Wendy. Rob tries to help the man but he still.dies. And from there the book takes you on a roller coaster ride and only leaving you on the last page! Highly recommended!?

I had seen this book on so many blogs and was chomping at the bit to get to it. From the start I was excited. There’s so many thrillers out there where whatever happens takes place when the lead is alone, and it was nice for it to take place at a family barbecue, when everyone was together and so there were witnesses. The ‘it’ is the stumbling of a homeless man who has been tortured into the garden. This more than set the scene and I was ready for a rough ride. I enjoyed Mr Bale’s storytelling, after worrying at the start that the writing wasn’t my cup of tea, as Rob, the lead, was too paranoid and wondered a bit too much about the homeless man, leading me to think that the ‘was there a message to all of this’ line of thinking was trying too hard to lead us. This flew in the face of times where we weren’t told things about the past that could have been alluded to earlier. My other issue was that I found the story to be a bit disjointed at times, and I had to make notes on the many minor characters, although that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Saying that, this all quickly faded to grey as we followed Rob and his family away and came face to face with a group of nut jobs (well, they were!), who felt they had the right to do as they pleased to get all the power they felt they deserved. I had that muzzy feeling and tension headache that comes from being so deep into a book that you are walking alongside the characters absolutely terrified of what is going to happen next. This group of people wanted to push boundaries by seeing how they can physically hurt people and I knew the author was over a line that most of the thriller and crime writers that I read would toe, and it had me nervous of what I could actually read. I had some relief when some things DIDN’T happen but it was still a tough one. Saying that it was excellent, the story, the characters, the tension, and I read it in just two sittings (would have read in one but, you know, kid stuff;)) and couldn’t stop thinking about it. Highly recommend if you like the grit of a tough hostage situation where anything can go. Special mention for Tom Bale’s letter to the reader at the end-it will most definitely drive me on to his next book. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for this book in return for an honest review.

After reading See How They Run I was very much looking forward to more from Tom. All Fall Down did not disappoint. Initially, for reasons unknown, I struggled to really connect with the novel. Eventually, however, the Turner family hooked me. Tom has a seemingly effortless ability to create an aura of fear and anticipation somewhat akin to Paula Hawkins and Gillian Flynn. All Fall Down is a gripping thriller and one to watch out for this year.

Having read 'See How They Run' and loving it I was very keen to get my hands on this one. Tom Bale doesn't disappoint, with another gripping read.

There was so much going on in this book I found it hard to put down, in fact a little too much for it to be totally believable. Having said that I finished it in a day as I was desperate to find out the outcome.

Highly recommended book, 4 stars as I did feel there were too many storylines going on for one family to suffering for it to be fully believeable. I cannot wait for the next one though.
