2 stars for An Ideal Crime by Roderic Jeffries. At 189 pages, it seemed much longer.

I have read and enjoyed Jeffries in the past, but An Ideal Crime, a story of blackmail and deceit, missed my mark. Reasonably early on, I decided I really didn't care for any of the characters, not even Jim Thorne, the rather wet protagonist who is set up as the patsy for the robbery of the safe deposit vaults.

The story moves at quite a slow pace, which is not always a bad thing, but in this case it was almost excruciating.

Thank you to Endeavour Press via Netgalley for providing a digital copy of An Ideal Crime by Roderic Jeffries for review. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

And I will be reading more from Jeffries- I have enjoyed my previous encounters and will simply regard this book as an unfortunate blip.
