Thanks Netgalley for letting me review this 3 part book. This is a real heart warmer and made me look forward to spring and summer (which at the moment seems a long way away). Millie the main character and is totally relatable and easy to like and the sense of friendship and community in the seaside village is wonderful. Makes me thing of the old days.

A sweet, pun intended, story of a small town business that is facing outside competition. The friends and romance are fun and interesting to follow. Hard to put this one down. The only thing I didn't like was the cliffhanger at the end. I can see the point as a series, but while reading this book it is not fun to turn the page and find the hanging ending. The story is strong enough and interesting enough that I still recommend it, just wish the ending was different.

I received this e-book Spring Beginnings the first book in the series Millie Vanilla's Cupcake Cafe from publisher Harper Collins to read and review for free. This is the first book I have read by author Georgia Hill but it wont be the last. What first got my attention was the cover of the book and title. and then when I read the brief description I knew this book I needed to read. This book didn't disappoint. If you like a goof romance with some drama this book for you. I feel in love with Millie quaint little cafe. I didn't realize that book was set up in Europe its not a big deal but some of the words can be difficult to get but if you continue to read further you will get. You will love the characters of Arthur, Biddy, Tess, Zoe and Jed. I was very surprised how it ended, but glad to see another book in this series MIllie Vanilla's Cupcake Cafe.. Can't wait to read it. This book is a definite must read for the book lovers out there..

I warmed to this story in the first few pages. Millie (Emillia Fudge, what a great name!) is the owner of the cupcake café, a cosy inviting place sat on the Dorset coast. The cosiness is summed up straight away with Trevor the cockapoo in his basket by the radiator. This is a quiet time of year for Millie, but when a handsome stranger in a suit walks into the café her life is about to change.
I don’t want to give too much away as this is quite short, part one in the series, but this is for anyone who enjoys comfort reading with a charming setting and a big helping of romance. It’s a great story with instantly likeable characters, and engaging all the way through. The flirtation/romance is gorgeous – some would say cliqued no doubt – but I loved it, and so will lots of romance fans! From the moment that Millie’s handsome stranger turns around and catches her watching him and gives her a little wave I loved this story! It is predictable and sweet yet also unexpectedly amusing. (I was taken by surprise at one point and think that you will be too) Georgia Hill has really pulled this off. Eagerly awaiting part 2…….

This book is a really easy reading girl meets boy and it's not all smooth sailing. The characters are really likeable and it's great bedtime reading

Spring Beginnings is a sweet, very light read. This book follows Millie as she works on improving business at her cupcake cafe in a small seaside town and discovers love along the way. While I enjoyed the overall plot of this book, I which more details were provided about the characters. I felt like this book was more of a wonderful outline that needed to be flushed out a little more. I also didn't really enjoy the ending of this novel. While I understand that this is part one in a three part series, I prefer series that have books that can stand on their own. This book is more like reading the first half of a book, then it abruptly stops.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Thank you to Harper Collins and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Firstly I loved the cover of this book it was so sweet and just screamed Chick Lit.

Millie Vanilla's Cupcake Cafe is the first book in a three part series and is such a sweet read that you will find very hard to put down.

The Characters are all relatable and easy to fall in love with and throughout the story there is a real sense of friendship and of a community banded together.

I found the romantic relationship between the Main character Millie and her love interest Jed to be realistic and it was easy to want this couple of have their happily ever after.

I was left in suspense after devouring the last few pages and cannot wait to read book two in this delightful little series.

A great read for any Chick Lit lover, it definitely won't disappoint!

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this copy.

Millie runs a café in a seaside village just outside Lyme Regis. Her parents originally owned the café and since they died some years ago in a car accident, Millie has given everything up to keep the café going. It does well, situated on the sea front. She bakes her own cakes, uses local produce, has lots of regulars to keep her going through the winter and plenty of seasonal customers throughout the summer. One day the man of her dreams walks in. Jed in a management consultant working in the area. The attraction is instant and the pair soon become inseperable. Then Millie finds out that the old bank has been taken over by a huge multi national chain coffee house. She worries how she is going to compete against them, and finds her friends rally round her to think of ideas to keep her business going. She’s so thankful for all the help and support, especially from Jed – but she then finds out something about him…..

This is a short story beginning the first part of the Millie Vanilla’s Cupcake Café Series. I have, on a previous review, said about how much I hate these little short stories when they could just be released as one whole book. This book I make an exception to!! I loved this one. I finished it in a couple of hours, and even though I knew it was going to be a short one and would be left wanting more, I didn’t care!! The story was predictable, you knew where it was going right from the beginning, but it had me hooked and I couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters and I loved the setting. I love the Dorset and Jurrasic Coastline and I could just picture sitting in this little café along the sea front eating a slice of Millie’s Victoria Sponge!! Can’t wait for the next instalment!!

A wonderful start to this beautiful series.

Millie is a warm loveable character really friendly and has time for everyone. She has a lovely little cafe that you just want to visit, you can imagine the delicious smells of her bakes and cooking, the sea breeze and the bright colours of the cafe.

Im looking forward to the next part to see what it brings for Millie and the cafe.
