This is the first book in ‘A Town Called Christmas’ series. It’s completely unseasonal to be reading a Christmas book in June, but the weather has been so hot it’s been a welcome relief to read about snow and ice! For this series, we are transported to Juniper Island up in the Scottish Isles. Piper ‘Pip’ Chesterfield is a mystery guest who travels the world reviewing hotels for a magazine. Pip has been to Juniper Island before as a child with family and friends. She has happy memories of her best friend, Gabe who, as they grew up, became the only man she ever loved. That was until the day Pip saw him with another girl, and she left broken hearted. Unknown to Pip, Gabe is the owner of the Stardust Lake Hotel where she will be staying but will she be able to forgive him?

I’m finally making my way through my unread Holly Martin books, and am now coming to the last few. Despite it being a Christmas book (and it goes against all my principles to read Christmas books so early in the year), I loved the sound of this one, and couldn’t wait to start it! Pip is a lovely character who has obviously been running from heartbreak all of her life. Her background is particularly sad and I could only imagine what she went through on the night she last saw Gab. Her lifestyle of travelling the world and reviewing hotels may sound luxurious but it also comes across as a very lonely life. Gabe sounds like every woman’s dream – handsome, rich and the perfect dad to his little girl – so when Pip claps eyes on him again I began to cross everything in the hope they both find their happy ever afters!

As usual, the book is filled with love, life and laughter! The supporting characters are all wonderful! I love Gabe’s big brother, Luke, and although their sister Neve took a bit of warming to, I came to love her as much as the others! Neve’s storyline ends the book perfectly with the ideal transition into the second book of the series Christmas Under a Starlit Sky, which I started straight after this book! It is a Christmassy book with lots of snow, fairy lights, reindeers and the most picturesque Christmas market I could imagine, but even though it’s June it didn’t feel wrong reading it at all!!

Holly Martin is my favourite romance author ever! She never fails to write a book which doesn’t capture me hook, line and sinker and once I started this one, I couldn’t put it down! In fact, I finished both books of the series in a weekend, which is pretty good going! The location was perfect, the kleptomaniac Shetland Ponies made me laugh and I really want to spend a Christmas filled holiday in one of the ice igloos to watch the Northern Lights!! This book, despite all the coldness, warmed me up from the tips of my toes to the top of my head! Another 5-star read by this fabulous author!!!

I love anything by Holly Martin and this Christmas-themed novel was no exception. Who wouldn't want to spend a holiday on an island, especially when it could be a romantic holiday? Another winner and looking forward to the next books in the series.

Holly Martin is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. She has a way of warming you up inside and will have you falling in love with all the characters from the very beginning of CHRISTMAS UNDER A CRANBERRY SKY. You can’t help but care for Piper. She is damaged where love is concerned, and very fragile, but she goes out of her way to help those she cares about. Gabe is my new book boyfriend who I thought was an uptight snob in the beginning but the way he protects Piper and looks out for her had me swooning in no time at all. I devoured Gabe and Piper’s story in one sitting and can’t wait to continue the Town Called Christmas series with the next book, Christmas Under A Starlit Sky. I can’t wait to read more by this wonderful and funny author.

It’s always refreshing when an author can make you giggle out loud and Holly Martin does just that with CHRISTMAS UNDER A CRANBERRY SKY. She even had me snorting to the point where my husband looked at me like I was crazy. Holly Martin is quickly becoming my newest go to author. CHRISTMAS UNDER A CRANBERRY SKY is book one in the A Town Called Christmas series. Here you will meet Piper Chesterfield. She lives nowhere, has no house to call home. She reviews the finest hotels for her career and travels all over the world. She arrives at one of the Shetland Islands to review a new resort that will be opening soon, and it just happens to be a wonderful place where she spent a childhood holiday. She discovers once there that the hotel and resort is owned by her childhood best friend and love of her life Gabe. They hadn’t seen each other for over 12 years when Piper left due to a tragic accident and horrible misunderstanding.

CHRISTMAS UNDER A CRANBERRY SKY is a magical romantic story that you will finish in one sitting like I did. It’s a wonderful story that is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit no matter what time of year you read it. If you love a sweet and funny story of friends becoming lovers then nothing then lovers again than do not skip CHRISTMAS UNDER A CRANBERRY SKY. The characters were also a joy to read about. I liked both Piper and Gabe, as well as Gabe’s family, but my favorite was Gabe’s young daughter Wren. She was simply the sweetest character who pulls at your heartstrings and I loved her involvement in the story the most. It had me completely invested in all of the characters lives, so much so that now I feel as if we are all friends and I truly want to pack up the car and head to Christmas. I just love when an author can do that to me and Holly Martin does not disappoint.

A quick and easy holiday read. I couldn't put it down! Holly Martin delivered a sweet Christmas romance with a town called Christmas. Left me feeling warm inside. This was my first Holly Martin book and I'm planning on reading more of her books.

A quick and easy holiday read. I liked the beginning, and the ending of course, but the middle tended to drag a bit for me. The climax builder of their pasts, and then the exposure of who she is seemed a little over the top. Maybe just me, but would have liked a more toned down angst, especially with a young child. Other than that, a cute story, and looking forward to reading the next in the series. Would recommend.

This was such a magical, feel-good romance!

Pip, or Piper, works as a mystery hotel guest for The Tree of Life. She stays at various hotels all over the world and writes reviews on them. Her latest assignment is to review Stardust Lake Hotel-a newly renovated hotel on a quaint little island that often has views of the Northern Lights. Little does she know the hotels new owner is none other than the love of her life from her youth.

Gabe took over his grandfather’s hotel and is making amazing strides with renovations. Igloos, decorated lodges, views of the Northern Lights, reindeer, shops run by local villagers selling all sorts of themed goodies…it’s the perfect winter retreat. But when the girl who broke his heart many years ago ends up in his hotel, it seems to be anything but perfect.

Gabe and Pip go way back…but after a tragedy and heartbreak years prior, their hearts are broken, but the chemistry and feelings are still there!

I loved this book. I enjoyed following Pip and Gabe’s journey towards finding love again. The setting was absolutely magical, and the author did an amazing job focusing on the details of the lodges and the village with their specialties-chocolate fountains and handcrafted snow globes, among other goodies! I love Christmas and would love to visit a place just like this, it sounds so enchanting and lovely!

Even though it’s only October I’m always in the mood for a holiday romance, and Christmas Under a Cranberry Sky did not disappoint! It’s got all you need for a cozy, heartwarming read that just makes you feel warm inside.

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley and Bookouture. All thoughts and opinions are my own!

I love reading Christmas chick-lit books so I was pleased when my request was accepted. I haven't read any of Holly Martin's books before but I will now as I am hooked! Holly en-captures the meaning of Christmas and describes the place we all dream of going to! I look forward to reading the second book in the series which thankfully I have already requested and has been accepted! I can't wait to see where Holly takes the characters as reading the synopsis it's a carry on from this story. Thank you for letting me read and review this book, I can wait to start the next one and will be looking at the other books Holly has written.

I loved this book. It was the book to get me right into the Christmas spirit.

I loved all the wonderful descriptions and all the things it helped me picture and imagine. I didn’t want to put the book down until I finished it.

I liked that once the introduction of Piper and her background was laid out that the story jumped straight into the main story. There was no toing and froing and wondering what was going to happen it was bang in the story, right in the thick of it. It was continued all the way to the end nothing detracting from the main plot.

This was my first Holly Martin book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely read more of her books.

Christmas Under a Cranberry Sky by Holly Martin is a magical cozy novella sure to warm your winter night. Piper Chesterfield is a professional mystery guest writing for an influential travel magazine. Her job has kept her traveling and busy for the last several years with hotels becoming her home and without ties to anywhere, but she is becoming tired of all the traveling and needs a break. When her next assignment takes her to Juniper Island, an island she has great memories of as a child, and The Stardust Lake Hotel, she is eager to spend a few days before Christmas writing about it’s grand opening. Then she will enjoy a short sabbatical from her hectic schedule.

Once she lands at the beautiful hotel she is surprised to meet an old boyfriend, Gabe Whitaker who now owns the Stardust Lake Hotel. They both have a long history together filled with memories, misunderstandings and love. Can they work past their feelings and open a successful hotel? Can their old wounds be healed? Can they forgive each other? Can they learn to trust each other again?

What I really loved about this book were the descriptions of the Hotel and the wonderful people working there including Gabe’s family and his wonderful 4-year-old daughter who tells it like it is. It made it all come alive in my imagination. Each character was believable and I instantly felt as though I knew them personally. The descriptions of the hotel and its surrounding areas like the ice palace and the crafters village made me want to visit there also. As I finished this book, I downloaded Ms. Martin’s next book just to continue on with the story. I hope this is not the end of a wonderful set of characters.

I was given a ARC of this book by NetGalley and Bookouture with no obligation to review it. This is my honest review after reading.

Holly Martin - you are my now favourtite romantic feel good author!
I loved this novel and went on to read a second novel by her straight away.
As with lots of romantic reads ,there is a certain amount of predictability and you can almost guess the ending ,but there is something so happy and pleasant about reading a good girlie novel.
This tells the story of Pip - a freelance travel reviewer who ends up at Juniper Island at a hotel which is yet to open. They way the hotel is described, it makes you imagine the most stunning place and i want to visit! HOWEVER the owner of the hotel is Gabe - he broke her heart and as soon as she sees him she feels something she knows she shouldn't. Time has moved on and he now has his own little girl, who quickly grabs a piece of Pip's heart, as does the hotel ,island and the Northern Lights.
I won't tell you anymore but this book is lovely - it will make you smile, laugh and tug at your heart strings! READ IT!
