How week do we really know our parents? Stewart’s mother came to live with her and her family and she soon learned all sorts of things about her mother.
She had an adventurous life, survived a major naval disaster, had a dashing shipboard romance, and got a nun drunk. That was one of the most humorous parts.
I thought it was an interesting book.

What a thought provoking book, one I wish I could write. For a well written, emotional journey, this is the book. We learn of two strong women brought together by virtue of birth and illness. The background Mary brings to her time with her daughter Eleanor is fascinating enough to be a book on its own.
