An action packed western . Steven Jory has inherited a ranch from his uncle and on his way to check it out . Well there is more to land owning then meets the eyes . Between land grabbers and greed . His arrival brings things to a head . Will he survive to keep his uncles ranch or will he succumb to the greed of Ben Sharkey .
The characters are well written and complex . The author has a good grasp of the western lifestyle and his characters show it . We have the evil land baron who just wants more and more land for himself . Ben Sharkey is the man in the black hat , you love to hate him . He is doing anything to be the biggest and baddest land owner out there Steven Jory is the hero the guy in the white hat but he has done some not so good things so when takes over his uncles ranch he will do what ever it takes to keep it . When these two clash it is a battle until the end .
This is the first book in the series and it is a really good read . The author takes us on an adventure ride that just doesn't stop . The characters are good and the story line is action packed and will keep you on the edge of your seat through out the read . Check it out
