What I love about Bella Osbourne's books is that they are normally split into four parts and it is the ending of the first 3 which make you want to know how the characters end up and this one is no different. Beth and Carly are so likeable as characters, I wanted them both to get what they need in life. This book picks up in the spring season of the book which matches perfectly with the front cover. I can't wait for the final part to see what becomes of both girls and if they get their happily ever afters. This book made me wish I was living in a cottage like Willow Cottage as I think I would trult enjoy the town Beth calls home.
nice to be back at willow cottage, i have missed out on part 2 so wasnt 100% sure what was happening. good read
Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the Publishers, Avon Books, for these review copies given in exchange for an honest review.
This book was originally released in four separate parts for the Willow Cottage series, with the whole book released at a later date. This review is for the last two parts, A Spring Affair and Summer Delights. They can be read as separate standalones but I would advise to read them all and in order of the series.
So, following my review yesterday of the first half of the book this is the review for the last two parts. Without giving away any spoilers, we pick up in the story where Beth is still in the village and is still renovating Willow Cottage with a view to reselling and moving on with her young son Leo. The house, and possibly Jack, the only eligible male under 30, is the only thing that is keeping her in the village. Beth is still trying to keep a low profile to avoid being found by her ex, Nick. Will he eventually find her or is she safe in Willow Cottage?
This was a great end to a great book! I loved the suspense of whether Nick will find them and also the wondering whether Beth and Jack finally get it together. Also thrown in are some heart-breaking moments where it had me reaching for the tissues, but then had me cheered right up again with some very funny (and clever!) writing. The roping in of the Women’s Institute to help organise her friend, Carly’s, wedding was wonderful, particularly the two ladies arguing about the cakes!
I absolutely loved this story and was more than a little bit disappointed when I finished it! It would be nice to maybe at some point go back and visit Beth and Jack for another instalment but then again perhaps it should be left with the perfect ending it was given! Great writing by a great author – this was a wonderful feel good book!! Can’t wait for the next one!!
Beth is trying to avoid Jack as she thinks that there could be issues with domestic violence and with her problems with her ex she cannot afford to make any more mistakes......but how wrong can she be!
Carly and Fergus are back in the picture with Fergus planning a spectacular proposal but will they stay that happy or will things go wrong for them as well.
With Beth's ex out looking for, determined to track her down and Jack always in the background this book is full of village life and shows the way villagers look out for each other - cant wait for the next part
This is such a beautiful series and I loved the return. We saw a little from Beth's previous life to make us aware of the horrors she's escaped from and why she's scared to let people in.
Catching up with Carly and Fergus was lovely- they are great characters.
You feel a real sense of a village community and getting the know the characters more leaves you eager to find out how the story will end.
The house is getting through the rennovations despite a setback and I can't wait to 'see' the house ready to be a home.
At last we come to Part Three of this intriguing series by Bella Osborne and now; when does the fourth and final part come out? That should tell you all you should need to know about how much I enjoyed catching up with the adventures of Beth and Jack.
This part is packed with action and ends upon a humdinger of a cliff-hanger. What are you doing to me Bella!
Edging closer as a couple, Beth misunderstands things she’s heard about Jack and a wedge is driven between them that even the truth about Jack fails to entirely overcome. Her paranoia isn’t helped by Nick, her controlling ex, turning up and throwing a huge spanner into the works. Despite this, Beth goes to London to help her friend Fergus with his surprise engagement proposal to Carly. All goes well until Fergus is hospitalised. Eventually able to get back home to Willow Cottage, Beth learns that Nick has been sniffing around again and after a scare at home, settles in for the night little knowing the danger she has unwittingly put herself in.
Ms Obsorne delivers another excellent slice of life full of wonderful characterisation and situations and continues to show why she has rapidly become one of the major Romance writers in such a short time.
This is a very sweet series but I do wish it had been published as one book rather than in four pieces. You can read this in one sitting- it's that short. I like the characters- Beth, Leo, Jack, Carly, Fergus- and the Cotswald setting. My advice would be to go for all the pieces that are available and lose yourself in the story. Can't wait for the next and presumably final seasonal installment. THanks to Netgalley for the ARC.
It's the third part in the Willow Cottage series and it follows Beth, who is renovating Willow cottage to make a new start for her and her son. She has met lovely locals and a handsome man Jack. Her friend Carly, who also plays a big role in the series has her life finally in a place that makes her happy and everyone is happy for her. Beth's life is a bit more complicated because of her ex and also because of her own doubts when it comes to Jack.
It's a lovely addition to the series, I really like the village and the people there, everyone is very friendly and helpful. What makes the story even more interesting is the mystery/suspense in it, can't predict what is going to happen or how things turn out. The third part ended in a way that I can't wait to read the fourth and final part. All in all it's a wonderful series.
I am so happy that I decided to read the WIllow Cottage series. It's a very lovely one! And I really like Bella Osborne writing style. Every part of this series is rather short which is great. It's always nice to read a rather short book in between two bigger ones. Once again I enjoyed reading about the Willow Cottage series. I love how it's full of mystery and suspens, how you feel a bit of fear, how you want so much that the two main characters fall in love with eachother... I can't wait to read the part 4 of the Willow Cottage series! I totally recommend this book! Thank you Bella Osborne!
After reading part one and two I couldn't wait to read part three of Willow Cottage and it didn't disappoint! I'm glad that Carly is finally engaged but didn't see the part about the fight coming and him ending up in hospital, currently unconscious.
I have a couple of criticisms to make, when I started reading part three I'd forgotten where part two had left off as I had read part two a couple of months ago, I remembered the gist of the storyline but not where it finished, Bella is leaving this in four parts, at the beginning of each part it would be good to have a bit of a 'previously' before the next part begins (but I quickly got into the swing of it again a couple of pages in). This part didn't flow as nicely as the other parts and seemed a bit rushed, like one minute Beth was in the hospital with Carly and the next she was back at the cottage, it didnt seem to flow as well and with Nick appearing, one minute he was in the pub, the next he was gone, and didn't feature again, I'm not sure of the point of this yet but it might make more sense in part four! And this part didn't seem as long as the other two, it felt like as soon as I had started it I had finished! Unless I was enjoying it so much and didn't realise how long I had been reading! I did enjoy the book and can't wait for part four, I do hope that Beth and Jack end up together, I will be shocked if they don't! Thank you for letting me read and review part three, look forward to part four! I love Bella Osborne!
This series is growing on me. Beth is working on renovations for Willow Cottage with the help of handyman Jack. She is still in hiding keeping her son Leo away from her ex husband. As the winter recedes and spring is blooming Beth feels she is getting too close to the eccentric villagers and tries to cut ties.
Another brilliant book in one of my favourite series. This one had me gripped from beginning to end. Can't wait for the next installment.
Another great book by Bella I couldn't put it down. I have enjoyed all the books in the Willow series and this book certainly did not disappoint.
Loved the little twists throughout and it kept me hooked throughout.
But omg it can't end like that..... I need to know now what happens. Hurry up Bella with the final part to the series I can't wait.
I have really fallen in love with the characters in this story. It feels like Beth has come a really long way since I read part one and is much more down to earth. I'm not going into any detail here other than oh my goodness why must they all end with a cliff hanger that has me needing to read the next part asap!! How cruel!
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon books for an Arc copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is another slice of life in the pretty village of Dumbleford. Bella Osborne has written an episode that is easy to read, interesting and warmly told. We begin with Beth receiving a card that chills her, sent by Nick, the man she thought she had escaped from. With heightened emotions she breaks her ties to Jack and Doris his dog, much to her son Leo’s dismay. She is now worried that Jack isn’t the charming man he appears to be after she hears things about his past. There are lots of misunderstandings and tension in this story, and more of a focus on friends Carly and Fergus. They have a rollercoaster of ups and downs as joy changes to heartbreak in a few short hours.
There are a range of emotions in this instalment, which is as good as the last two, my only gripe being the gaps between each part as I am now keen to read the last one!
Book is great..loving to story line... impatient to read part 4 no em
Omg no!! You can't end it like that I need the next book now! Another great instalment
I was so excited to be able to read the next part in Beth and Leo's story. I have grown to care for Beth and Leo and only want what is best for them especially as in this book we find more about what Beth is running from and why.
The cottage is really starting to take shape and trying to save money, Beth is determined to do as much as she can on her own. Even though Jack has helped she realises that she is getting too close to him especially when she learns something about his past. Bella puts two and two together and sadly makes five, and it is this which sets her on a path to alienate herself from everyone again. She is not planning on staying at Willow Cottage for long and it seems she may have to move quicker than she first thought.
When a rain-soaked day ends up with her kitchen flooded, she has no choice but to turn to Jack.
In this part we see more of Carly and her boyfriend, Fergus which was great as it added more depth to the book. Of course Carly and Fergus knew little of what Beth was running away from but as they learn so do we. As backgrounds are filled in on the characters as the story progresses it made me want to keep reading but now I will have to wait for the final part.
