quick, enjoyable read.
Sorry for the delay in feedback. I'm working on clearing out my Netgalley backlog.
My fave genre is murder mystery usually amateur sleuths ones but even these ones do. I absolutely loved it! It was short but well written and tied everything together perfectly. I loved the couple in the book and their relationship as well and how well the book was written
Really enjoyed it! solid 4 stars!
Death and Her Devotion by Kendra Elliot: Stevie and Zane's wedding plans are overshadowed by the murder of a renowned movie and TV star at a local campground. The case quickly becomes the focus of media attention, turning their once-quiet town into a chaotic hub of reporters, paparazzi, and fans. As the investigation unfolds, secrets are exposed, revealing that the star's seemingly pristine image hid a history of bad behavior that may have led to his untimely demise.
If you are a fan of romantic small-town mysteries, this book is an essential addition to your reading list.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review the advance copy of this book.
As readers of The Phantom Paragrapher and those who know me IRL, you will know that I am bad at reading books out of order. I never mean too, it just happens. Sometimes I get it right but other times, I end up reading them back to front and that's what happened with Rogue Vows Novellas series. Reading this book second, gave me a clearer view of what had happened and the events leading up to what occurred in Book #2 - Burned by Her Devotion. Death and Her Devotion starts with Zane and Stevie who should have been finally tying the knot being called to the local camping ground as Chase Ryan has been found dead. Chase Ryan is a major Hollywood actor who plays a cop onscreen and has his fair share of stalkers especially one in particular who shows us looks can be deceiving Cyndee. With multiple stories that don't line up and the police of Solitude wanting this wrapped up before the wind of his death hits the news and media vans swarm down on Solitude, Oregon. Can Zane and Stevie get to the bottom of who killed Chase? Also in this book is an OMG moment as our stalker decides to have another go at arson trapping someone from Solitude in a barn? Can Carly and Seth get to the barn in time or will the Taylor family suffer another tragedy?
Find out in Book #1 of the Rogue Vows Novella series by Kendra Elliot for a quick read mystery fix.
Stevie and Zane are days away from their wedding when a murder on a local campground takes up their attention. The victim is a famous movie/tv star so it take no time for the news to get out and the small town of Solitude to be besieged by reporters, paparazzi and fans. Only 4 other people were at the campground with the murdered star, one being a child who hadn’t seen a thing. But could the brother and two friends that he graciously employed be behind this? Why? Or could it be the woman wrecking havoc in the small town that is most certainly a stalker? Secrets come to light and it seems that the star with his clean image was anything but and his bad behavior might be the reason he’s dead.
I’m coming into this starting with this book and the next but there are obviously prior books with the same characters in a separate series and based on reading this one I will definitely go gave and collect the others to read to see the beginning of Stevie and Zane’s relationship. It was good and I can’t wait to read more
I love every novel by Kendra Elliot, she has such style, and from the very first word will suck you right in.
If you love murder mysteries by a great author, you will not go wrong with this book!

First off, Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh both work on the Rogue series. There are two series before this one, Rogue River (4 novellas) and Rogue Winter (2 novellas). These novellas are based in Solitude, Oregon about 4 characters. Two are sisters, one is a police officer, Stevie and the other is a social worker, Carly. Stevie is dating police chief, Zane and Carly is married to Investigator Seth. Each Rogue spinoff has a different crime.
In these two novellas we have the four investigating a murder of a TV star that is bringing the paparazzi to the small town. As the four try to solve the murder they seem to be getting closer to danger. I love these quick romantic-suspense novellas. They are perfect for a quick satisfying read.
The town of Solitude is in for a rough ride. A body is found at the local campsite. It's discovered to be a celebrity. When the murder is leaked to the press, all hell breaks loose in Solitude. Chief of police Zane and officer Stevie, have to solve the crime and get married. Its not going to be easy especially as his entourage are being less than truthful. I found it to be an enjoyable read. Recommended for fans of romantic suspense.
This was a short story that could easiy become a full novel. It was a very entertaining read and I could not put it down. Great read!!!
In this new series of novellas, Elliot gives this first one the premise of Zane and Evie planning their wedding. Then a dead body is found nearby.Suddenly wedding planning is on the back burner while they try to find the murderer. There is plenty of suspense in this one, along with the great main characters and interesting secondary ones.
The Rogue Vows Novellas are a continuation of the story begun in the Rogue River series. Police Chief Zane and Officer Stevie Taylor are finally going to get married, but when an actor turns up dead in the woods, will they have to put a hold on their nuptuals.
This is a short story that is continued in the book by Melinda Leigh "Burned by her Devotion". Despite the fact that this is a novella, it has everything that you would expect from a full-length romantic suspense novel. The characters are not really developed in this book as they have been in the other Rogue River books and were developed there. The story moves quickly and keeps you turning the pages. I read this one in one sitting and immediately began the next. This was an enjoyable read.
I greatly enjoyed reading another one of Kendra's novels. I was glad to know that it had a sequel too it. I'm not sure if I should have read a murder mystery set in Oregon before I go there, but it was worth taking the chance. If you have read Elliot before you will not be disappointed at all. Characters are really down to earth.
