Great story line and interesting how the lead characters have to deal with wife battery and flashbacks to being in war areas. It was difficult to put the book down as I became fully engrossed in the story.
I bought this book on kindle and I will be reviewing it as part of the series later this year.
and PTSD, not new topics by any means, but as written by Ms Osburn, they are terrifically real and emotionally charged. From the onset, Carrie captures your heart, while Noah engages your empathy for his sacrifices and the fallout he's left with. It was easy to form a bond with these characters, as written, they were real enough to leave a lasting impression.
With all the emotions this story generates, there lays within its lines gentle humor, compassion, and the love of family and friends. The author's depiction of the trials that Carrie and Noah experience on their way to overcoming the obstacles that tried to prevent them from their HEA, had me on the edge of my seat several times, heart racing as the drama unfolded. I was literally captivated by the imagery created that enhanced the experience, further defining the turmoil and heartbreak.
This book was provided by the Publisher and Netgalley, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
I've enjoyed all of Terri Osburn's novels but Her Hopes and Dreams is special and with this book she's taken her writing skills to a new level. I appreciate the everyday characters in this book. Carrie and Noah aren't rich, successful, or powerful. They are hard-working individuals who could easily be our neighbors. They have not led privileged nor easy lives. I have rarely met two characters who deserve happiness more. Osburn digs deep into the emotional scars carried by both as she expertly guides them through the tumultuous journey to their happy ending. I'm adding Her Hopes and Dreams to my keeper shelf and excited about what Osburn will bring us next.
