Description

There’s more than one road to revenge…

In Desert End, Arizona, there’s only one man in charge – Whittaker Brice, owner of the Painted Lady Saloon and landlord to most of the town.

So when the law decides that Cal Rutter and his fat partner, ‘Smoky’ Jones, were the culprits of a ranch murder and cattle rustling – nobody argues otherwise.

Sheriff Andrews and Mayor Slater know it’s a frame up but they’re in league with Brice – and happily so.

After all, there’s been a spate of cattle rustling and Rutter and ‘Smoky’ are convenient scapegoats.

They’re ordered out of town and on pain of death to never return.

At first, Cal and ‘Smoky’ don’t think twice about taking the trail to Yuma but then one night, Smoky’ and his horse fall into an hidden cavern.

And not just any cavern, it turns out to be an ancient burial site, once used by the Navajos. What’s more, it’s full of gold.

‘Smoky’ just wants to take the gold and start a new life Yuma, but Cal has a better plan – he wants revenge.

But how to get back into Desert End without being shot on sight?

Cal knows just the man for the job – a Navajo chief by the name of Chewonokee.

Held in great regard by the Indians and the white folk, one of Chewonokee’s lesser-known skills is a unique surgery to change one’s face and voice.

In short, he can make Cal and Smoky into new, unrecognisable men.

Cal knows the chief will help them – as he knows the true origins of Desert End; once a Navajo settlement until Brice wiped it off the face of the earth.

But can they all make it out alive…?

A heart-pounding Western, Navajo Vengeance is full of twists and turns, with plenty of suspense and action. A mustread for fans of Zane Grey.
