Danger from all sides…

In the Wild West of Cannel County, a cattle range is better known as a ‘gold-mine of four-footed beasts’.

Rustling ranges is how criminals make their crooked way, and there’s a particularly corrupt bunch on the loose at the moment.

But why is it that such a criminal, the Rancher Amos Naughton - who as good as runs the town of Cannel Ford - is suffering the most from these rustlings? It’s true, many have a vendetta against him, hence the constant presence of his bodyguards, Bart Slater and Pierre Dubois.

After the cowardly sheriff Mosen hires the cool stranger Banjo Peters, it seems the law might win the day. But who is this outsider and how does his own brand of law work?

His history with the lovely dark-haired piano player Pia makes him even more mysterious. 

When Naughton quickly meets an unfortunate end, it becomes clear he and his Oxbow X crew were just the tip of the iceberg.

Smarter criminals are at work here, in this case the Tolman Gang, run by the beautiful and dangerous redhead Arlene. What’s her connection to Naughton and where does her intense hatred stem from?

It’s difficult knowing who to trust in these parts, especially when her faithful Indian Long Tooth and her long-term partner Chris Klyne, each have their own agendas. 

From the dusty plains of the Arizona desert, up to the Mexican border and beyond, double-crossing and every-changing alliances make for an intriguing tale of cat and mouse, in the hunt to bring the right man to justice.
