All That Glitters and Other Reflections

This is a collection of varied stories that will make you smile at some experiences of being ’thrown in at the deep end’ of life.

We start with a true story about how a very ordinary student set off from Liverpool for London equipped only with a Ford Cortina and a sleeping bag and ended up working in the lower reaches of ‘The Square Mile’ – the financial world that is ’The City’.

Not so much ‘Sex in The City’ but ‘Sales in The City’ and the less glamorous but hilarious world of financial sales in the last decades of the twentieth century. Anyone who has been ‘thrown in the deep end’ will love this story and those that follow.

You will not find too many Lear jets in these stories and champagne is not the normal tipple.
