Following O’Brien from the airport, Murphy thinks he is safe. He’s not been spotted, or so he thinks. Within moments, a high-speed pursuit kicks off. Murphy is used to this … and it’s not long before he has O’Brien’s Jaguar! Somehow, he’d managed to fool O’Brien. Something that wasn’t likely to go down well …

Willie Butler is a pal of O’Brien’s … and the owner of the pub Murphy frequents. Now that Murphy is on to him, he needs to protect Mary and his friend Jimmy Rimmer. 

He has to get away … in the safest manner he can think of. All priests travel safe, so a train journey with them sounds like a great way to go to Murphy. He makes his way to Dublin … but priests aren’t all what they seem, as Murphy shockingly discovers. 

Problems don’t disappear when you move away, as Murphy soon realises. He finds himself staying with people who know Willie Butler … but they have more important things on their mind. Like a robbery, first thing in the morning … and they need someone to help them, someone to act as a decoy … Murphy.

Murphy’s survival skills are in need now. He needs to pull out everything he can to get through this … and he does. Under the care of Laura, Murphy begins to relax. But what about Mary … he’d promised her he’d be back, didn’t he?

Charles, Laura’s brother, is acquainted with Tom O’Brien. O’Brien is more powerful than Charles realises. But they want to do business and Charles is putty under O’Brien’s powerful persuasiveness.
