Description
He vowed to save her . . . even from herself . . . but it won’t be easy with killers on their trail and the past haunting her.
Laura Spenser, chosen to guard one of the seven prophetic scrolls held by the Council of the Guardians, is on the run. A band of killers murdered her uncle, the High Guardian, and left her seriously injured. They will stop at nothing to obtain the scrolls. Laura has since escaped to Ireland, but knows the killers will find her. She desperately needs a bodyguard.
Enter Connor O’Shea, ex-Special Forces soldier. Conn is on leave in Ireland after a devastating explosion at his firefighting job. Out of curiosity, he answers Lara’s ad in the local newspaper for a “strong chauffeur”. As a romance begins to bloom, the killers close in. While Conn may prove his ability to protect her, can he rescue her from the soul-deep pain that hold her prisoner?
Advance Praise
"This book had it all, it was a fast read and I read it in less than one day. Lara and Conn are wonderful characters, as well as Dev who I hope to read more about. The book has love, sex, suspense, prophecies and violence. . . There are six more Guardians out there and I can't wait to read the next story in the series." - Paranormal Romance Guild - 1st place: Rescuing Lara - Paranormal Erotic / Romance Suspense ThrillerNovel
"Lyn Horner has created a tension-filled life and death chase that is softened by moments of healing and sharing in Rescuing Lara. . . Picture a vibrant, multi-colored braided ribbon, each color being a subplot and you can visualize how well Ms. Horner has woven this tale together with depth and precision . . . creating a masterful work of art through words." - Tome Tender

Lara Spenser is recovering from an accident in which her uncle was killed. She is in Ireland and happy that Connor O'Shea is the one who answered her ad for a driver/body guard. She is trying to protect one of the scrolls her uncle left to her which has been in their family for centuries. There are 6 more in the Council of Guardians and she must find them without losing the scroll she has to the bad men after her. Conn has decided to stay with her and help. The attraction they feel for each other is helpful in his making this commitment. The story takes them from Ireland to Texas trying to stay ahead of the men who have no trouble killing or what ever it takes to get the scrolls.
Lyn Horner is a new author for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the Romancing the Guardians series. Filled with suspense, mystery and a love that binds forever; this story had everything!
Interesting world building and characters that imprint themselves on your heart, made for a wonderful read and the need to find out what will come next.
This was my first book by this author and I really liked it. The story line was good and Connor and Lara were great together. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
A thrilling, adventurous, sexy romantic suspense with a touch of paranormal! This story had it all: Great characters, a heart-thumping, on the edge of your seat action and suspense, and a breathtaking romance! It was such a treat to read. The story came along beautifully and the pace was set perfectly and the hero...totally mouthwatering. The Heroine was wonderful too and I can't wait for book 2!
I really enjoyed this novel. This was the first novel I have read by this author but it won't be my last. I loved Lara, I loved her strength and determination. This novel grabbed me from the first page and did not let me go. I loved Connor and his strength in standing beside Lara and trusting in her abilities. This novel had romance but it was so good because the suspense would hardly let me put the novel down. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to see what is in store next.
