Description

Take a break!

In "Stories for the 12 Days of Christmas," Linda Mansfield encourages you to find a little "me time" over the Christmas holidays to relax, put your feet up, and immerse yourself in some modern Christmas stories.

They're all short, so you can fit them into your busy schedule.

They're also realistic. No talking reindeer, dancing snowmen, or elves were allowed. There's no partridge either.

"Stories for the 12 Days of Christmas" is an ideal Christmas gift for both men and women, ages teens through seniors. In this baker's dozen, six of the stories have male main characters and seven stories have women main characters.

This book can help you get your shopping done! The hard cover makes a perfect Christmas gift, and the paperback is great as a stocking stuffer.

Like your favorite Christmas memories, some of these stories may make you smile. They also might help you get into the Christmas spirit, remind you of the real reason for the season, and become a part of your Christmas traditions.

P.S.: "Stories for the 12 Days of Christmas" is the first book in the "Two Good Feet" series. "Twelve Stories for Spring," "Twelve Stories for Summer" and "Twelve Stories for Fall" follow. All can be read individually or as a set.

'Stories for the 12 Days of Christmas' is a little like grabbing a cookie or two at a time. There is a sweetness to these stories....These are not children's stories but the language is plainspoken, easy to anticipate, and that makes the book perfect for a busy schedule....Mansfield is not writing little romantic vignettes. She is imagining ordinary people whose lives are changed by choosing love....She is offering you a Christmas break, manageable moments of connection, so that you come away refreshed and ready for more. And maybe with a little sugar high to keep you going. 'Stories for the 12 Days of Christmas' is a small book of loving reminders to be better, do better, and change your life, by choosing love. It's worth noting that it could be a gift you give to others, as well as to yourself. — Susan Schoch, Story Circle Book Reviews

Here's an anthology that can be read during the Christmas season and it will make you happy. The stories are light, some make you laugh, and you share the characters emotions.

BooksGoSocial and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It has been published so you can grab a copy now.

All of the stories are realistic and relate to Christmas. None are long so you could easily read one story a night out loud. I read the whole thing in one evening because I love short stories.

I have to tell you that the one that was my favorite had to do with a Christmas pageant that didn't work out quite like it was supposed to. Any story that includes a "flaming ass" as an ending makes me smile. It's not cussing, it's a happening and you'll need to read the story to understand the reference.

This could easily be your lunch break read as you approach Christmas. Give it a try and see if she makes you laugh.

This was a short enjoyable read of 13 stories (the author added an extra one as a Christmas surprise!) which I ended up reading over one evening.

They're short real life based stories looking at a variety of themes and practices around Christmas, each with a laugh and/or a message to make you think how you live your life. I'd fully recommend this as a quick escape from the pre- or post- Christmas bustle to remind you what's most important at this time of year.
