NicShef #1Amazon Reviewer August 2016I love all books but tend to shy away from action thrillers as they don't tend to relax quite like a good old chick-lit read. So when Mark Hollands mentioned he had written an award winning book I was intrigued and interested in reading it but somewhat apprehensive as to whether this thriller with rock'n'roll, sex, crime, drugs & biker gangs would be a relaxing Sunday arvo read. I was wrong to worry, as it was in fact so mesmerising that I was transported to another world that was high energy, highly entertaining and totally engrossing. The story goes: -Billy Lime has everything riding on the success of the Australian tour of ageing rock stars "The Pagan Virtue", yet when the band's legendary lead singer is poisoned it all looks like it literally will go to hell. Couple this with Billy already being investigated for alleged drug smuggling with millions of dollars of cocaine being planted in the band's equipment - hell is looking attractive! From the seedy Sydney scenes, the egos of fading rock gods, through to the violent biker gangs, this is an adrenaline fuelled page turner in every sense of the phrase. I would never say that a book filled with fictional ageing rockers, tax men to hate, cops crooked and otherwise, all woven into an action thriller story would be on my 5 star list - but this is definitely well worth each one of those stars. Congratulations Mark Hollands you have put together a crazy ride that deserves a long-running series.
