Description

A thirty-year LAPD detective, Fred McCallister, was hoping to cruise quietly into retirement. Instead, he’s drawn into an investigation of a schizophrenic serial killer , Jeffrey Dawson, who, as it turns out, only murders women who resemble his stepmother.

Charlene, a beautiful aspiring actress, gets involved with a not-too-bright blackmailer, Randy. Hans, a real estate mortgage broker under investigation by the SEC, becomes one of Charlene and Randy’s victims, but he retaliates by soliciting the aid of his long-time mobster friend, Giovanni. But before Giovanni can track down Charlene and Randy, they escape to Los Angeles. A very enjoyable read with good characters. Little slow in places. 4*.
