Description
Researcher Angelica Hernandez finds
a disturbing shift in the dormant Aguilera Volcano. She desperately requires
additional resources and money to investigate the highly unusual phenomenon,
and the only person willing to help is the arrogant businessman who interrupted
her class.
Dragon shifter Ti Anda discovers Ange’s tantalizing scent during an informal visit to the university. He offers to sponsor Ange’s research mission, and even volunteers to help with her fieldwork. Ti’s reasons are personal—his dragon has claimed the woman and the volcano as his own.
When saboteurs threaten Ange and her project,
Ti’s protective instincts reveal a truth that Ange is unwilling to believe. Ti
will have to convince her that his unique ability to shapeshift doesn’t change
anything between them—or risk losing the woman who belongs in his life.

Those who enjoyed Dragon Reborn might have mixed feelings about Ti, the dragon shifter who features here but actually his story had a lot going on. The action takes place in Chile where the very successful Ti runs his business but as the story begins he has grave concerns for the land that his dragon has claimed. When he smells what could possibly be his mate he is shocked to discover that Ange is not only human but an archaeologist about to investigate the volcano he has claimed ! Determined to get closer to Ange Ti offers to support her investigations but there's unexpected complications when they arrive and someone definitely doesn't want Ti or Ange there .
This was very different to other shifter books I've read and it's technical details about volcanology and the study of dormant and active volcanoes really added to my enjoyment. Ange is written as a passionate researcher and I quite liked this strong, active woman. Add in Ti who tries so very hard to woo Ange without bombarding her and just whisking her away and it made for a very interesting read. So often we get alpha males who are arrogant and determined to dominate the woman they love but here Ti is portrayed as flawed, vulnerable and I actually liked him more because of it. The second half of this book went in directions I wasn't expecting but there is a happy ending and as a romance reader that's exactly what I want.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
