This was a really fun book to read through. I loved the many different facets of nature that were discussed and illustrated in this book.

I have shared this with my kids, and they really enjoyed it as well. For kids ages 5 and up, this is the perfect gateway into understanding nature and getting to know the many different aspects that make up what we view in the natural world.

Get ready for a fun-filled adventure and enjoyable time reading with your kids.

This fun and info-packed book offers beautiful illustrations and loads of ideas for learning about the outdoors. A terrific resource with activities for families, especially those with digitally-addicted members who need fresh air and the healthy benefits of nature. Readers also learn about the Earth’s origin, weather, earthquakes, volcanoes, and much more. 5/5

Grateful to the Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Children’s and NetGalley for the early copy, in exchange for my true review.

I really enjoyed this book as it reintroduced me to a number of concepts that I had learned while in school, but hadn't really thought about or explored more since then. For learning about nature, I tend towards children'ts books because they are generally written in a clear and concise manner without any judgement and this book definitely fulfills those categories. I also really enjoyed the artwork that went along with the different pages and can see how it would appeal even more to a younger reader.

Favorite fact learned is that daisies are actually comprised of more than one flower, you just have to look closely :)

I received this book in exchange for a review, but the opinions are my own.

eBooks through Netgalley thanks to publishers in exchange for an honest review. Images are simply to show off the eBook I have and may not be 100% accurate to what they published.

Informative and illustrative love the contrast of black and the blues.

Overall: This is a great resource for in the classroom or in the family bookshelf. Amazon lists this as a K-3 resource. It could be to explore imagery or work through the text. But to me this feels and reads for more 3rd and up? I could be wrong and it depends on your younging. But it's a good group/family read ..to go along with exploring the outside world.

I like the simplicity of this book. It is a book that makes you feel like you can breathe deeper and take in all the world that surrounds you through all your awakened senses; like how you feel and hear everything so much better immediately following a spring rainfall. Don't get me wrong, I use the word simplicity to describe the tone of the book; to indicate that it is uncluttered, with just enough text and images. All the words and descriptions are chosen in a precise and detailed manner to enhance the feel of the book and its messages., You feel like the book is a mere guide to something more. That the book is meant as a launching board for you to discover your own individualized personal experience of the world around you and its abundance of wonder. To sit still, peacefully, for awhile.
A lovely book. I do confess, however, that I am not a fan of the style of illustration/art used, and yet I think it was wisely chosen this way, so that it aids us in not dwelling on the image in the book, but rather look outside at the world it is directing us to see and "know" through our senses.
An unusual find. Recommended.

Outside: Exploring Nature takes a look at the great outdoors via weather, and land formations. There was a neat section on oceans, and another on planets and stars. The artwork reminded me a great deal of that found in Shel Silverstein's books, the drawings simple yet useful. I found everything to be very informative and science-oriented, and there are activities to try scattered throughout. My cubs and I read the together and we all enjoyed it. This is perfect for nature and outdoors oriented kids.

***Many thanks to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
