My four-year-old has been obsessed with dinosaurs for 2 years. She can actually tell you with her toys who is who and what they ate. I was worried this book would be too advanced for her, but I read it to her and she was excited. There is so much to learn. The time periods and the greatest dinosaurs that lived during them. She loves T Rex and Triceratops the most.

This is the perfect book for your kids in love with dinosaurs or wanting to know more about them. So much information and the images/pictures are fantastic. I can’t get her to put it down.

I highly recommend this book and I thank NetGalley for giving me and her., the opportunity to read it.

So excited to receive an arc of this book. Anyone who has any child in their life that’s interested in dinosaurs MUST get this book. The detailed illustrations are amazing, with eye catching intense coloring. While I’d say this is for an older child, because of the detailed information, any younger child will enjoy it over and over again just because of the art.

Wonderfully illustrated book on dinosaurs that my grandson and granddaughter just loved! The illustrator, Rudolf Farkas, created some wonderful pictures of dinosaurs that really engage children. Dennis Schatz, the author, breaks the book into the four time lines, Permian, Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous, and then explains the dinosaurs found in each period. There is also a section on how we find out about them now through digs, labs, and the works of paleontologists. Then how the bones can be taken and put together like a puzzle and put in a museums so that all can see. Great books for children, classrooms, and libraries.

Schatz’ History Uncovered: Dinosaurs is a very brief overview of dinosaurs over the world. Each page is beautifully detailed, with short facts about dinos and geography. Each dinosaur mentioned has a pronunciation with it. The first part of the book deals with the various time periods, and with landmasses. Later sections look at flying and underwater critters, extinction causes, and how fossils are located and processed. My cubs and I read this together, and quite enjoyed it. My only qualm is how short the book is, with each section barely brushing the surface of information available. A perfect gift for the aspiring paleontologist in your life.

***Many thanks to the Netgalley and Quarto Publishing for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is an engaging book full of interesting facts. If you have a child interested in Dinosaurs this is a great book for them. They will learn more about Dinosaurs and love the illustrations too. Young Dino fans will enjoy it and elementary age wanting to learn more perhaps working on a project will like this as a resource too. They might just like looking over it over and over again -- they won't tire of it.
