Be inspired and delighted by Collage Workshop for Kids, a colorful art instruction book on collage techniques for children—made in cooperation with The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.

Collage Workshop for Kids pairs essays by educators from The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art with instructions on collage technique. Chapters explore favorite art themes for kids and demonstrate how to work with colored tissue paper, newspaper, fabric and buttons, painted paper, torn paper, and more.

In each chapter, Reggio-inspired author and teacher Shannon Merenstein explores each technique with original ideas. Members of the museum’s education staff offer expert advice on creating art with children.

Forget the kids, I want to do the workshops!!!
This is fabulous book for all age groups - young children and older and for those that are young at heart.
The book is divided into workshops, Faces, Places and Spaces, Nature, Contrast, Construction, Wearables, Tell a Story and Experimental with Material.
There are different aspects within each workshop that concentrates on various fields of creativity. There is just so much to love in this book - there is so much to make - so much imagination to explore. I love this book!!
Great one for art teacher or parents with children who are always on computers.

Not to be confused with College Workshop for kids (which I just made up), this is collage workshop aimed at a young audience! Kids love to do this kind of thing and it was interesting to me because I've been toying with an idea of doing a collage episode of my Little Rattuses series (which I'll then of course have to photograph since I'm not going to create a score of original collage books to sell! LOL! So while you never always know where you'll get good ideas and tips - which is why it's a good idea to read lots and keep your eyes open, you do now, because this book is full of them!

The book contains everything you need to know - the supplies you'll have to bring yourself! But once you have them, this book will tell you - and your kids - in easy, illustrated steps how to turn them into some pretty cool collages that any young child would be thrilled by and proud of. You can create anything in collage, and make it look pretty darned real by choosing the right materials, and once you get the bug, you can move on to creating your own entirely original collages. I commend this book as a fun adventure which will teach kids to be creative and leave them with some nice art skills and a wealth of confidence. Plus who knows - maybe a new hobby, too? Or even a career!

This is a resourceful book about collage for children. Just like any typical craft book, the authors first introduce the medium, the tools, materials, and basic techniques which required for creating collage projects.
There are plenty of collage ideas with good instructions. Each chapter supplemented by amble of pictures which help children to know ahead of time what the projects are all about. Most of the projects are simple and engaging, and art materials are easy (and economical!) to find or to obtain. "Collage Workshop for Kids" is a great book for children of all age! I can't wait to work on few projects with my kid this coming summer when we run out of things to do at home.
