Description
Patrick came to Olthetta to become a mercenary. Instead, he ended up begging on the streets with no way home.
Until he lands a job that changes his life and falls for the beautiful, gun-toting journalist Elleira who introduces him to the community of Element Bloods. People who are just like everyone else, but descended from ancient elementals.
Then the High Lord seizes control of the newspapers and a city-wide raid bans and destroys books by Element Bloods. Soon after, Elleira vanishes.
As the city guard begin arresting those close to her and burning the places she frequents, Patrick scrambles to uncover the reason behind all of it. Why has the city targeted Element Bloods? How are the banned books so dangerous to them? What secret is so damning the High Lord will go to such lengths to protect it?
Danger lurks in every shadow. Can Patrick dredge up the answers to find Elleira and expose the truth? And if he does, will the city, or the world, survive what he unearths?

A powerful short story of racism, politics, control, and a power of word.
It's a story of how with the help of propaganda, and control of what people are reading, what is available for people to read the government is spreading their beliefs and prejudice against a group of people, in this case called the Bloods. A man called Patrick, who by chance becomes friends with some Bloods - his employer, and another woman who both teach him how to think for himself and question the authority. He sees through the lies and tries to help spread the truth on what is happening in their town.
Powerful ideas, in a short format.
