This book contains very good design advice in a concise format that's easy to read and look at. The author used their own knowledge of design in the arrangement of the book, which made it, not only esthetically pleasing but made it really easy to refer back to later and find the elements you'd like to incorporate into your own design.
This is an amazing interior design book. It tackles many of the most frequent design questions. My favourite example was about how to paint walls white and how your location can affect what undertones you need in your white. This is the perfect book for anyone looking to decorate your first home or give your current home a bit of a refresh. I loved this book.
A beautifully illustrated and inspiring interior design book for ordinary people. I liked the question and answer format and the way he author tackled common problems. Even the area of designing and working on a rental property were tackled. I loved the crisp, minimalist style which made the pictures so appealing. A great book, thank you.
I've got my copy and I said lets see what is inside and when I started reading all those advices and examples, I had to finish it. It is a book that is perfect for everyone who wants to redecorate and who is moving to a new home. I even started to plan a new look of my home just because I got great ideas from here.
This British book is full of practical advice for both renters and homeowners on all kinds of decorating questions. The majority of the book is devoted to two-page spreads of a question and answer. The left page has the question and a very practical answer. Many of these solutions are ones anyone can implement. The right page has inspiring photos that illustrate solutions to the question.
Spaced throughout the book are two-page more information articles. These can contain things such as information about colors or what should be in a home toolkit.
Except for the British terms that might be confusing to some North American readers, this book ia very useful.
A lovely, well-presented and informative guide to making your home look beautiful! I loved it. The photos are stunning and the tips are great. I've just moved into my first flat so this book has been very useful in helping me to feel more confident about decorating, thank you!

I did not really know what to expect when opening this book. Indeed, would it be another interior design book explaining concepts and not really going into real situations? I was therefore really interested when I saw how this book was organized about real questions and issues about some real examples that you can face in your home. I totally related to some of them and therefore found interesting ways to address these issues.
I liked the book so much. it was a delightful and interesting read. thanks to the publisher and netgalley for providing the arc.
This is a very surprising book with such a lot of ideas on updating your small home, whether it is rented or owned, there are many tips and ideas to make it your own. This book covers the basics of home decoration and how to make it more liveable and to your taste with colour, furnishings and layout. It explains how to work with the things you have, and with things that can't be changed, and in no time, you'll have a home that is comfortable and proud to show off.
The title "My bedroom is an office" already gives the hint about the content of this well laid out book. It gives practical and inspirational answers to many common interior decorating questions for tricky areas that are applicable for both new homeowners that start with a blank canvas as for people who want to create a more welcoming atmosphere in their living spaces. And, as a home staging teacher, I can recommend this book as a must-read for sellers and home stagers too because it will provide them with many ideas for issues that so many properties have: Lack of texture, color, and layers to make bland rooms interesting for home buyers.
This is a book that's easy to understand in terms of interior design and has a question/problem and answer format. It is in general helpful and it points out that it's important to find your own "voice".
The book is an easy to read guide to designing your interiors, laid out in the form of questions and answers alongside appealing photos. I think I would have preferred if there had been more a structure to the questions, arranging them by room or category, as they seemed (except the final question) to be in random order.
