Since time immemorial, the Duine and Fae kind have co-existed, living side by side to each other’s mutual gain. Two realms separated by a mysterious veil. The mythic and mundane worlds run parallel, separated by this veil. Worlds collide when a catastrophic event occurs destroying the wall between worlds, chaos ensues and threatens all forms of life.

This event is prophesied by the Fae and named 'The Scourge'. A skilled group of Fae are gifted with seven magical artifacts and are quested to set the world back on its true path.

The journey takes the group to every corner of the globe, thrusting them into the path of demons, dragons and even gods.

Chiren, an Elfin squire and youngest of the Fae, narrates the tale.

The tale follows the classic hero's journey and has been heavily inspired by folklore and world mythology.

However The Chronicles of Chiren don't necessarily read like your traditional fantasy novels, with adult themes, occasional course language and elements of humor spattered throughout. It also fuses the fast paced action and the snappy dialogue of films and comics to create a hybrid that could be easily converted to either of these mediums.

Tearing of the Veil is book one in a series of at least five planned books, where each book is a standalone tale. Within each new title the core characters established in book one will have more of their pasts revealed and the history of their world will unfold. (less)
