This book is a fun epic poem detailing the adventures that Minty goes on after running away from her farm. I'm not quite sure why Ginger the cat wants her gone but it's due to Ginger's lies that Minty meets so many different creatures and characters. It was a bit chaotic jumping around after goblins, werewolves and dragons, but Minty made friends.

My issue with this book is with its poetry prose. The book was written in rhyming couplets but the rhythm was off and often varied in length. This made the story a bit difficult to read.

Overall, a fun adventure for a brave little lamb!

This book was honestly just so fun! I originally decided to get this book from Netgalley because of the name - it made me chuckle. Even though it's a kid's book, I had a right good time reading it. Minty was super cute (also, a great but slightly distasteful name for a lamb) and I liked the adventure. I think it would be a great book for children.

I actually chuckled when I saw the title of this book and just had to give it a try.

The story starts off on a farm and revolves around a young, naive lamb called Minty who, after being told by Ginger the farmcat, that the farmer's wife wants to kill and cook her, she leaves the farm to find a 'magic meadow', and her adventures begin. Along the way she makes friends and enemies and generally finds trouble of one sort or another around every corner.

'The Lambshank Redemption: A Leprechaun's Curse' is a fun romp through a land filled with fairies, werewolves, gnomes and more, and I'm sure any child (and any child-at-heart) will root for Minty at every step of her adventure.

I referred to this as a story, but it would be more realistic to call it a poem, and although I liked the overall premise i found some of the rhymes a little forced. More than once I found myself reading and re-reading some of the lines trying to make them fit, and more often than not gave up. That's not to say this was hard to read - once I got into the swing of it, it was an enjoyable amble through a new fantasy world. I was a little disappointed to see 'to be continued' at the end - and having not read the sequel yet - I felt a longer book with a full conclusion of the story would have been more effective.

I will be reading any further volumes released in the future and will ensure reviews are posted accordingly.

Overall, a fun, adventurous story that doesn't take itself too seriously.
