Description
Full of heartache yet joyful and life-affirming, this is for readers who enjoyed Tin Man and Expectation.
'A wonderful story about the redemptive power of an unexpected friendship. Leaf's characters are fresh, engaging and beautifully drawn. A marvellous read.' - Ruth Hogan, bestselling author of The Keeper of Lost Things
Poet Ada is recently widowed and feeling lonely for the first time in her life. In order to reconnect with the local community in Oxford, she puts up adverts for a ‘Rent A Gran’ service – offering everything from cooking advice to babysitting to dating wisdom.
Eliza is a fish-out-of-water student at the university. She finds it difficult to form meaningful relationships after the estrangement of her mother and breakup with her girlfriend. She believes it is easier to be alone.
Can they find what they are looking for in each other, and cast off their isolation for good?
'A love story of intergenerational friendship that is perfect for these divisive times. Leaf's writing is warm and lyrically funny - she has an eye for details both sublime and ridiculous. Looking for Eliza is an intelligent and big-hearted read with the human condition at its core.' - Harriet Walker, author of The New Girl

This book was like a warm hug. I read it in two sittings. It's a charming, witty and heart-warming story about friendship and finding out about yourself. I really felt like I was in Oxford, living alongside the characters as they navigated their ups and downs. I'd highly recommend!
