Una Richardson is devastated after the death of her mother. Hoping for a fresh start, she responds to an advertisement and steps into the rich, comforting world of elderly Mrs Elspeth McKenzie.

But Elspeth's home is not as safe as it seems.

Kathryn, her cold and bitter daughter, resents Una's presence. More disturbing is the evidence suggesting two girls lived here before.

What happened to the girls?

Why will the McKenzies not talk about them?

As the walls close in around her, Una fears she'll end up just like the other girls . . .

Wow!! I haven’t been able to put this one down!! One sitting and I’m finished! I have absolutely loved this one, it’s kept me guessing from the very beginning and there is no way I could’ve predicted the ending. This is my first read by this author- I am extremely excited for more. I highly recommend this one.

Just Like The Other Girls, is a twisty and jaw dropping masterpiece from Claire Douglas. It feels like every word written has a meaning and is used to draw you in to the plot. As you are swept along trying to uncover the truth of just what happened along with the main character. A book that you will not regret reading!

She's done it again! Another fantastic book from Claire Douglas. I only wanted to read a chapter or two in one sitting but I was drawn in and managed to read the whole book in one sitting. It was so gripping that I just had to find out what was going to happen and boy did i not see that ending coming!

It was a treat and privilege to be able to read and review this book. With libraries being closed, I am struggling to find quality digital books. Claire Douglas never disappoints. Instantly gripping with intriguing characters and a page turning plot. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing but sufficient clues to keep you engaged. The characters are well rounded and credible. Overall this was an entertaining and enjoyable read and definitely one to include on your worth reading list.

I have read and loved all of Claire Douglas’s books but have to say this is my favourite. Oh boy you’re in for a bumpy ride, so buckle up and enjoy!!

When Una sees the ad;

“ Carer/ companion wanted for elderly lady. Young female preferred. Competitive salary. Room and board included”

She applies and gets the job to care for Mrs Elspeth Mackenzie, who lives in a large luxurious home with a cook, cleaner and gardener looking after her. She is more of a companion than a carer to Elspeth, but the money is good and she is saving to go travelling with her best friend Courtney. The only downside is Elspeth’s daughter Kathryn who is cold and rude to her for no reason.

Una discovers that the last 2 girls who worked at the home have died and bizarrely they all look similar to her. Is she safe in the house and why does she feel like she is being followed whenever she is out alone!!

This is such a wonderful book. I was hooked from the first page and found myself holding my breath as the suspense built up. There are lots of twists and red herrings along the way. I kept changing my mind on who the guilty party was and would never have guessed the ending!!

A MUST read book that will have you telling all you’re friends about it. Get yourselves comfortable as you will not want to put this down. I cannot recommend this enough.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.

Fiendishly clever, dark and chilling. Impossible to put down
The plot was unpredictable throughout, all the way through to the shock ending. Twists and turns leading up blind alleys from the start, I was hooked.
The characters had unexpected and carefully thought out facets, adding to the plot beautifully.
Well worth adding to the book shelves
