This is a children's book about feeling shy. There are colourful pictures with two relatable children characters, Poppy and Mateo who felt shy at large gatherings. There are tips and suggestions of how to deal with shyness. Also ideas of how to use this book.
I think it's a lovely book to share with young children. I like how the characters are diverse and stories from both genders. I read it to my son who liked the pictures.
I received an e-book from Netgalley.
A gorgeous little book to help younger children who are dealing with shyness. This book includes two short stories followed with extra information to explain each story further, helping children to understand how to overcome shy feelings. The illustrations are fantastic and I love that the book has follow up activities too
Everybody Feels Shy is the perfect book to read to children in order to initiate discussions about shyness and when they might discomfort through shyness. The book has two central characters, Poppy and Matteo, who experience shyness in two different situations and resolve it in different ways. The illustrations are beautiful, the people shown in the book are diverse and it deals with everyday, relatable situations which may provoke shyness in children. The book also includes what made Poppy and Matteo feel better, a glossary of terms used in the book and suggested next steps to explore the feelings the book may have raised. I read this to my very shy 4 year old and she spoke openly about similar situations she has been in which made her feel shy and how she also whispers when she is feeling shy. I know I will read this to her again and again while we prepare for her to start school and I would recommend this to any parent of young children who may experience these feelings or have friends that do. Thank you Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book.
A nice book about over coming moments when children feel shy. A nice informative book for young children. The book had bright pictures and a activity page at the back to do an activity and after thoughts about the book. My two girls enjoyed the story and pictures. They freely talked about when they felt shy after we read the book which is great to discuss their feelings and thoughts.
What a lovely book about being shy. This lovely story shows 2 different children, both who are feeling shy for different reasons. I really liked this book because it's a conversation opener for children who are feeling shy. I liked the colourful illustrations and the easy to read story. Thank you for the opportunity to review this brilliant book.
