Description
Careless Hours is set in the high-stakes business world where lives intertwine and there is the inevitable heady mix of business and pure sexual pleasure.
It is not for the faint-hearted. The characters like to work hard and play even harder. Claudia Brodie and Andy Molloy are part of a global conglomerate run by Peter Dickinson. When Andy confides in Peter that he has had problems from a Japanese competitor, Peter has the bold idea of taking over that business. Andy is then thrust into the vastly different world of Japan. There he has to negotiate the culture and different ways of conducting business, not to mention the inscrutable lawyer who is aiding him.
Luckily, he has the beautiful Tania to help him. Claudia is also drawn into the negotiations in Japan but has her own concerns when her ex-lover, Jack, needs her help in clearing his name in the sexual scandal that broke them up in the first place. She cares for Peter but does she still have feelings for Jack? And can she find her careless hours once more?

I felt so lost and confused when I started reading this book. I felt like I had been thrown into a story that had already started. Overall, it was possible to read it as a stand alone, but I felt like I was missing background information that was never fully discussed. It wasn't until after I finished the book and looked at the author that I realized this is the third book in a trilogy. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. When I selected the book I did not know that it was part of a series. Knowing that helped me realize why I felt so confused. If you had not read the previous books I would recommend reading those first.
This is not a stereotypical erotica fiction book. There is an actual storyline, with a fantastic plot and it is well written. It's not what I would throw into the category of "trash romance" That is just pages and pages of love scenes. This book tells the story of characters who work hard and play harder. If you enjoy erotica fiction but you want an actual story to follow, then this is the book for you. I loved the author's writing style and look forward to reading more. I'm also planning on going back and reading the first two books in this series.
I want to thank NetGalley, the publisher, and author Martin Morton for providing me with an ARC of Careless Hours.
I am kicking myself for not realizing this was part of a series sooner! But alas, that is my fault and I still very much so enjoyed reading this novel.
Usually when you think of the erotic fiction genre, you don't expect to see a solid story line laid out. This book was the beautiful exception! There were more love scenes than you could count, and you actually found yourself bonding to the characters within. I really enjoyed this and will now be going BACK to the first two novels in the series! *smacks head*
Thank you again to those named above for the chance to read and review this novel!
This is the 3rd book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order. This is a fast-paced read with lots of twists and turns, plenty of drama and steam. The characters have lots of depth and the story is entertaining with lots of emotion. I really liked it.
I have to admit, I did feel somewhat lost when I first started this book, as I didn't realise it was in fact the third book within a series. This is obviously no reflection on the author at all, just a simple mistake made by myself.
This book is certainly not your typical erotica fiction, as there is a strong, intriguing storyline to accompany it. The plot is great and the book is written wonderfully and in a way that truly grasps the readers attention from the start..
I really liked the authors writing style, and the unique characters in which they had created. I will be going back to the beginning of this series so I can fully embrace this brilliant book!.
