This book was so fun! I loved the themes of acceptance, but also the fun characters and amazing art work. I would highly recommend this book for any middle grade reader who enjoys graphic novels. The possums were probably the cutest, and so inventive!
A absolutely adorable and sweet story about a girl named Frankie who has just moved into a new town and started a new school. Franke loves to explore and take field notes! Sadly the kids at school think shes scary and creepy but she goes on an adventure that changes her perspective. This is a great story for kids who feel like they're different and don't fit in, its about accepting all of yourself and finding the greatness in your quirks. I thought the addition of how to make a field guild/ start one was a great touch and activity for kids! The artwork is so cute and I had so much fun reading this!
* Thanks Netgalley for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*
A cute graphic novel perfect for elementary students. Frankie's first day at school doesn't go as planned-she's the new fairy in town, and on top of that, all the kids think she's creepy! But then Frankie discovers a bunch of new creepy critters on her walk after school and she realizes, creepy can also be cute and cool! A fun and quick little graphic novel with super cute illustrations and some fun facts about animals thrown in there too!
I got this on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!
This is a really nice comic/graphic novel! I really liked the story, the art style, and the morals presented here! I like how being different is presented and explored in the story, and like that it didn't just end up being "she was nice to them and then they were friends", but that it was about understanding and learning!
I would recommend this to anyone that likes a cute story!
I was really excited for this one! Frankie is such an adorable fairy. Of course she is different but she is capable of showing other just who special she is.. even if she is scary a bit.
Learn about creepy cute critters and a good morale for kids too about learning to embrace yourself. I hope this will be a series and we will get more adventures with Frankie
Received with thanks from Oni Press and Netgalley for an honest review. This was adorable and fun. I really liked Frankie and her mum. The art style is something right up my ally. I enjoyed watching Frankie's first day at a new school and her adventures with her wooley bear Tuna. This graphic novel was enjoyable and informative.
What a sweet and fun story for young readers! Frankie is a friendly fairy who just wants to study wildlife and fit in. When the other students are afraid of her fangs and dark colors, Frankie will have to learn from the animals she’s studied to feel confident and comfortable.
This book was a great graphic novel and I really enjoyed reading it. The theme, being yourself, no matter what obstacles you face, was valuable and it was such a great read! This book is perfect for readers ages 5-8.
Caitlin Rose Boyle has written a colorful and imaginative graphic novel, full of play and creativity. Recommended for a wide range of readers.
I really enjoyed this graphic novel. It was fun and colorful and adorable. It had a wonderful message of not being afraid to be yourself and finding something you love to do. The illustrations were fun and beautifully done. Very enjoyable. Thank you Netgalley and publisher for letting me read this book.
